- I was hired to install the fabric covering on a Christen Eagle II restoration out of California. I covered the plane using Poly-Fiber covering products.
This video is a time-lapse of the upper wing only. You can find additional pieces of this plane being covered on my channel.

You do good work. Not many people willing to show how they do this because of the difficulty of doing it well.
This is the 2nd video I have seen of yours. And you are the first person I watched do this. I am really enjoying it. The whole video premise is totally a Zen like experience. The music, your time laps recording and the actual work being done are collectively just great! 👍
You do great work. Your attention to detail is very impressive. It is refreshing to see that you are carrying on a very unique trade. Who ever taught you should be very proud.
Thank you for the compliments, I do enjoy my work!
After watching way to many videos by super opinionated homebuilders this is just what I needed, solid work that speaks for itself. I could watch these all day, fantastic work!
You definitely know what your doing! I enjoy watching your procedure.
So cool. The detail she puts into some of that stuff is incredible. A true master of her trade.
Amazing to watch the intricacies, SKILL required for this type fabrication. It's watching history....and a beautiful practitioner.
If you do that for the rest of your Christen Eagle II, it’ll be one beautiful aircraft. Very nicely done. Very nicely done.
I remember having to answer dope and fabric questions and doing a few stitches for my Airframes practical at Wheeless Airport in Dothan, Alabama back in 1988.
IMPRESSING!
Norhing less to say!
You are a TRUE specialist Dear Lady 💖
Very impressive work. With your attention to detail, I can definitely see why your customers would rather have you do the job, than them go through the pain staking processes that you do. When a customer brings you a restoration job, have they already removed the old fabric, or do they leave that for you to do as well. Great videos, thanks for sharing.
The customer can choose to do either. I can complete any pre-cover stripping, fabrication or prep at an additional rate. I have received planes in various levels of build or restoration.
the attention to detail is off the charts impressive ... I hope your charging people just for breathing the same air as you.
The work looks EXCELLENT !
I am ready to be taught by you...sublime work.
Wow, that was so amazingly cool, I was mesmerized by Her skill. By no means close to any comparison but I have two old Greatplanes CE II 1/3 scale 50cc gas models I have crashed a few times over the years and have lovingly rebuilt and recovered over the years so this is neat watching the real thing. EDIT: I just subscribed !!!!!!!!
Wow!! You are very talented. Really enjoyed watching.
Her work is stunning.
True craftsmanship! How long does it take to do a typical bush plane fuselage and wings?
Thank you! As a general rule, I typically reserve 2 months for a basic covering job.
I would like to see this in real time, awesome work .
lovely work again . beautiful product
If your ever swinging through upstate NY, I got a job for ya! Great video, a pleasure to watch you work
Wow awesome craftsmanship! Well done from Denmark
Nice work! I would love to see the complete plane. How did you get interested in this, what was your inspiration?
Hi mate. Just stunning work my dear!!
Fantastic work, Thanks for this sharing
I have seen Ribbstiches done many times but your methods are the fastest. It must be half as long to do
excellent work!
Honey you make it look so easy
I like your work,.. I'll sure use you on my next project if possible.
I think your work is Beautiful-
As always great work thank you !!!!!
Super good work
Very impressive! Thanks for sharing.
How did you learn how to do this?
Should you wear a respirator all the time?
Wow
Great job!!!
Thank you vey much, lovely leady about thid super video, god bless you and your family.
Never having built an aircraft, I had no idea as to how much time, effort, skill and attention to detail went into a project like that. I was floored when I read that you reserved 2 months to complete a covering. Wow! Here I was thinking a couple of weekends or so. Excellent work. Do you paint the aircraft as well?
Thank you! I offer primer application in some cases but no color coats.
Simply beautiful.
There's a lot of material science in what we're seeing here. You couldn't do a job like this 50 years ago.
From the additional cloths you kept adding I'll assume it got kind of chilly. How was the poly brush to handle? Good job!
Yes, it got quite cold there toward the end! Poly brush doesn’t give me much trouble. I wear a paint respirator so I never have to smell it and so long as you have the right reducer for your temp range it’s easy to manage. Thanks!
Beautiful!!
nice job
This is the second video I have watch you work. Do you have to have any type of certification to do this type of work? Surprised to see you use the same type iron I use on RC aircraft builds. You work fast.🤭
good content, i like you video😉 and i wish your video have a lot viewer and subscriber
you are obviously a master craftsperson at this. do you teach or ever allow apprenticeship to work with you?
Amazing! 😎💖
May I ask what type of fabric that you use, and is it okay to use regular polestar that is sold in the fiber glass stores
Simply put - Masterful work. Would you do my Cub?
Awesome!
Great video! How long did that 1 wing take you?
Really like watching you work! Kind of hard to follow the procedure when it goes so quickly. Can you slow it down a bit? I would like to understand why you are doing each step. Is there a set sequence? And does every glue edge get double cloth? Thanks. Mesmerized.
There are a set of general rules to follow but each model has a sequence that will give you the best results and they are all a little different. The videos are made this way so that I can squeeze work that is completed over several days or weeks into a few minutes. Thanks for watching!
Where did you learn to do this so well? Did you surrender school for it or some other way?
Does the polyfiber carry any significant part of the bending load? I imagine it is took stretchy, has too low of a modulus of elasticity.
A brief on the materials would be good for dummies like moi.
Glue fabric to ribs before shrinking?
Result in bowed ribs when you shrink, no?
Thanks for responding to my Text by phone enjoyed visit. And will check on wings and let you know.
Awsome👌👌👌👌👌👌
Very nice but why not use bias tape on the center section cutout? Works well and you get a continous tape edge.
Thanks for asking. Short answer is that the owner is painting the entire plane black. Due to this I had to use pre-shrunk tapes on the plane and bias is not offered pre-shrunk. I have personally repaired a plane that was painted black, parked in the sun and all the tapes shrunk and pulled back. It was a nightmare.
iapplyufly Good point. Where do you buy your pre- shrunk tapes?
I buy my tapes from Superflite. I'd only recommend using pre-shrunk when absolutely necessary, they are a pain to make look nice.
Awesome videos , What are you using to glue the fabric to the centre section and leading edges ?
Poly-tak
iapplyufly thinned with?
Acetone
iapplyufly thanks, why do you choose to glue the fabric to the ribs?
Personal preference
How long does it take to do this wing?
WHAT KIND OF SEWING WERE YOU DOING ON THE WING?
I would love for you to twist the wings of my Fox kit here in Brazil.
Wow
have same material tham RC monokote cover film ???? she use same iron.
How did you learn this skill?
My brain.
For some reason, my brain saw you petting a dog in the thumbnail!
Can u paint this
What does it cost?
Do you still cover aircraft? I can't find your contact info
wait.. swept wing on biplane? um... why?
looks like a cell phone in the fabric cut out @ 5:15, optical illusion
the iron she is using is exactly the same as mine and i build rc planes
