Verschillende versies beluisterd, dit is mijn favoriet, bravo aan een Vlaamse artieste die het zeker niet gemakkelijk heeft in haar carriere, bravo en dank van een eenvoudige" muzikale genieter" !
It wouldn't be if Chas'n'Dave sang it. It needs great vocal skill, elevated by technique and a genuine feeling. You'd shed a tear if I sang it, but for the wrong reasons😭
@@johnllewlyndavies222 Thanks for making the point of the non specific denotative nature of human expressions. However it's performed the emotional translation will remain until it is shared. The best? Just your _opinion, you mean._ I’m not saying Baker and Norman weren’t wonderful in this role, I’m saying Baker and Norman aren’t the only women who sang this aria. And I have no idea where the climactic “-member me” syllables go, but they are totally out of line with the voice she uses “before traversing the passagio”, as my voice teacher used to say. Mush vowels. Yuck.
Beautiful rendition! A beautiful open soprano sound with long legato lines. It somehow reminds me of Frederica van Stade’s rendition of Song to the Moon. Although there it was the other way round: mezzo singing sopranos arias. But it works the same for me. ❤
@@anneliesvanhijfte3387 I'm flattered and honoured to be asked! The one piece I think would be perfect for your voice is Lascia Ch'io Pianga. But I also think you'd be marvellous at singing any of these: O mio babbino caro, un bei vedremo, Viss d'arte, ombra mai fu, and the aria from Queen of the night. Thank you! Tony
performance is great, of course; but it feels really awkward how the singers of the choir are reading the score, as if they are checking for wrong notes being sung, or as hearing the piece the first time in their life (which isn't so). When interested in the score, study it at home or during rehearsal, but not during performance.
Why should anyone be compared with anyone. That is a retarded idea. Or do you compare one flower with another? Rejoice in their uniqueness. Jessye Norman has a totally different personality and style. Why should she even try to copy her?
This was fine until….the most difficult parts of the aria, the illusive, high, “re-MEMBER ME” vowels at the end….what happened?? Everything changed in her vowels, just as so many singers’ do! The Achilles heel, bc if you don’t get those right (for some people; I seem to be in the minority here), then the earlier, beautifully sung part….which isn’t difficult to sing….isn’t enough. For me, anyway.
Most touchingly performed!
What a wonderful voice. The phrasing, expression and intonation is superb.
Thank you so much for your kind words 💕
So touching, so natural, so expressive... a many times heard aria can revive again through the magic of a voice, yours... thank you so much.

My God!!! What a voice...!!!
Such an amazingly powerful rendition!!! I have always loved the Lament Bass used in this Aria!
This is at least an equal version to anything I have ever heard. The voice is beautiful and the feeling is so well expressed.
Thank you so much!

Fantastic!!! Annelies's version is among the best I have ever heard! SO expressive! I love the subtle ornamentation. Dank je wel, Annelies!

Such a beautiful and heartbreaking performance. I well up with tears. Congratulations and thank you.

A divine performance, you have a heavenly voice grace and sensitivity that express perfectly the beauty emotion and depth of this masterpiece, Bravo!
Can't stop listening to this. Sorry Janet Baker and Jessye Norman - this is the best version! Just wonderful.
Ah yes, but perhaps almost equal to those two
I discord. Jessye Norman is incomparable!

Your voice, I feel like being transported centuries back
Ontroerend mooi. Geweldige balans in de dramatiek, zichtbaar in de beeldtaal en de ingetogen zang van Annelies. Mooi, sober vastgelegd. Prachtig.

I was enjoying this so much that I was quite taken aback when it ended so abruptly. I need to hear more.
Very interesting version. I loved all the extra notes she put it - it worked beautifully.
Some like more notes, others less, tony Bayliss.
@@coreycox2345 that may be true but her voice control in delivering all those extra notes is quite remarkable.
