    Those watches are so beautiful. If only GS would give their watches proper names instead of WiFi passwords. It would help people connect more to them. I'm just saying...

      LOL. True. It's so hard to keep track of all the Seiko models out there. And a lot of them are very similar, with minor differences. It makes it hard to research or decide which model is best. Their website should also be cleaner, so we can sort between the models more easily.

    Have them both and yes they are magnificent but i still prefer the SBGW231. I can look at it for hours and never enough. Great video guys

      It's amazing how such a simple dial can be that good and you'd still pick it over these two heavily detailed dials. It's so weird yet it makes sense somehow

      @@dancinglizard3080 A simple white or cream dial is timeless and more versatile.

    Nice chat about some beautiful watches. I am the proud owner of the GS SGBW231 and to me, it is simply an understated stunner. I never tire of looking at the time! 😅

    Thanks Zachs (plural) for the video. Great GS manual wind timepieces. Agree with comment re straps. I swapped out the bracelet on my SBGH 273 Autumn for a GS rubber strap...completely changes the look to be more sporty and casual. 👍⌚️🇯🇵

    absolutely adore my sbgw289, fits beautifully on the wrist and the absence of double markers save for 12 brings me joy

    4:32: Strong and not too long! Very important, imho. A mistake very often made by today's watch manufacturers. I mean why keep the case to 38mm 'for the smaller wrist' if you give it a lug to lug of 47up to 49mm (for the bigger wrist)?

    • @turnbasedtoddy7664
      @turnbasedtoddy7664 Před 2 lety +1

      Yup it drives me crazy! Why put a 47mm lug to lug on a 38mm watch? Im looking at you Hamilton Khaki

    I bought recently 231 model,but i really miss that pop of colour that these models offer.Especially that emerald.If i’d have a choice,i’d take some coloured dial instead of a cream.Nothing wrong with a cream,it’s still a beautiful watch though.

    Great watches, but how do they wind? do you feel a good resistance when it is almost fully wound? Something that scares me with handwound watches. The look is simply stellar. It’s the GS Calatrava.

    • @Preset1
      @Preset1 Před 2 lety

      Don't wind the crown like you're the Tasmanian Devil's whirlwind and you'll be fine. If you take a rough two count to wind the crown halfway, you'll get the feedback from a full barrel without creating enough torque you'll damage the mainspring.

    All the SBGW variants need a bracelet option.

    Maybe a bit of a background topic but apart from the watches I see at least two other interestingJapanese products.
    You might like to 'review' Aberlour A'bunadh, even though it is not Japanese and it will not tell time.

    I’m going to get my first GS by the end of the year. I’m going to make this an heirloom piece that gets worn only on special occasions. I feel like between a Rolex or a GS I’m taking the GS just based off of movements and dial not to mention finishing and actually being able to purchase one without selling my wife.

    These watches are beautiful. I tried them on at the boutique.
    However the water resistant or lack there of is just crazy.
    "Splash resistant", are you kidding me?
    Come on, at least make them 5 ATM.

    This collection would be perfect if it has a 40 mm case and a power reserve indicator in the case back.

    Kinda cool - but too small and too expensive. I'd take an AT or OP anyway over these.

    NOOOOOooooo! the perfect watch (yes) but made for dwarfs (no). Every perfection but the size. If you are a girl and your suitor offers you one of these: sell your heart, sell your soul, he has taste and loves you for sure.
