It's insane how much better Instant Classic keeps getting year after year.
Ethan I know. They were pretty freaking incredible to begin with. IMO best of all time.
Right?! They’re THE BEST!
Arranged by David Zimmerman. I have a huge respect for those who arrange their own music!!!
That's their entire quartet. Kyle, Kohl, and Theo also arrange music
Kyle's low F on Shenandoah at 2:59 gives me chills to no end.
David's part there is perfect counterpoint!
I love Kohl's low register, middle register, and high register.
Me too!
I just want to point out that the last chord is very unconventional, 5-1-3-1. I don't know if David intended this, but that chord has the low Db root tone as an undertone. No one in IC can sing that low, but they produced that note anyway, you can hear it quite clearly at the end of the tag. Absolutely insane.
Oh my god, that is magnificent, thank you for pointing that out!
Instant Classic can do no wrong.😔
I Never heard this because when I would sing bass on this I always dropped to that note and now listening I hear it
I especially love the part from 2:10 onward when they sing both songs at once. Gives me chills.
Having the brothers was a great choice because their voices match up so perfectly
Now THAT'S an undertone. Wow
That chord at 3:15... I'm pretty sure I died and went to heaven.
Tenor is great
"Always leave 'em wanting more!" Like a low D-flat in the final chord! :)
A low Db generated by an undertone at that!
My favorite quartet is The Newfangled Four, but I love this group (Instant Classic) singing this song. What a beautiful sound!
I love how Kohl, the bari, absolutely kills that tenor line at 3:15.
That ring... crazy good
At 1:22 "place just right" I loved the placement of the breath on "play (breath) sjust right" Really unexpected and really works!
Oh my GOD they’re so amazing. I’ve never heard a quartet slay a ballad as much as Instant Classic 😍😍😍
I know right?! They're the BEST!
Thank you, David Zimmerman from this brilliant and beautiful arrangement. Bravo!
Finishing on the 2nd inversion was really refreshing and interesting... great job David
This one went straight into my bookmarks midway through a first listening. A very beautiful arrangement of Simple Gifts and Shenandoah!
I love how they show the power of a pause. It gives me chills every time.
Kohl is so gorgeous! 😍
I always come back and listen to this when I need a smile. ❤😊
Absofreakinglutely AWESOME!
😎😎😎
I wonder if kohl will sing lead and start his own quartet and win another gold someday
Tom King he’s in a mixed quartet called Half and Half
These guys are unbelievably good.
Beautiful close harmonies. Instant Classic are truly the very best at turning any ballad into a thing of exquisite beauty.
Impeccable arrangement
Magical arrangement and execution!
That tenor note at 1:07 :O
The baritone notes at 3:10 are also quite high
The cool thing is he didn't actually sing that note. It's a harmonic overtone, just like the extremely low note that seems to be in the last chord.
Absolutely beautiful.
Oh wow the harmony is just divine xxx
These guys are among the greats.
i feel like this would be a rad chorus piece; sounds a little bare in a quartet. still killed it.
edit: its just as lit as a quartet piece my bad
Wow I really love it
I love this a lot, so beautiful and so musical
Nice
this gave me goosebumps well done gentlemen
Love these guys.
These were my both of my middle school CDMMEA audition songs, so this holds a really special place in my heart
Beautiful!
Amen.
Be blessed
Yall can bet I'm going to make my family watch this under the christmas tree next week. So beautiful, one of my favourites from the newest album
Are there learning tracks available for this song?
3:05 is all you need to have a good day
Unbelievably difficult modulations and dissonances that remind of the works of Gesualdo during the late Renaissance.
How did they end the last chord?
C Major in 2nd inversion. Kyle sung the 5th of the chord, Kohl and David share the root an octave apart (David on top), and Theo sung the third above Kohl.
That’s right, Parker! Kohl and I are switched though - I’m on root, Kohl is on the third!
That’s an interesting voicing choice that David made! The arrangement is gorgeous.
@@TheoHicks so I noticed that Kohl takes the higher parts when David sings lead are you more comfortable filling in that Baritone role briefly like in the part at the Gbadd9 chord
