Hills, mountains and rivers, water falls. Thank you.
No problem, Nancy. Glad you enjoyed the content :)
tiny bit of sponge cut from a sponge scourer attached to one of the zips will block up the 3 zip gap for anti-midgey purposes.
Lovely video Monty which brought back many memories. Way back in the late 70s we approached Loch Skeen from the other side. We drove up by way of Loch Talla to where the Megget Reservoir was still under construction. From there we climbed in a southerly direction up and over until reaching Loch Skeen and then down past the Grey Mare's Tail. After lunch it was a return by the same route. It was a marvellous day though the descent, and subsequent ascent, past the waterfall was a bit steep and dangerous in places. It was not uncommon in those days to hear of fatalities among fool-hardy and ill-equipped summer day trippers trying to follow the same path.
Cracking little story that Michael! I know of one other person who took the same route as well over adverse conditions and said it was a cracking route. Thanks for sharing mate and thanks for taking your time to watch and comment on my video :)
What an amazing place, so beautiful, great video too
Thank you so much, Caroline. Hope you are well :)
Just subbed to support another fellow vlogger and hiker out there. That tent site was incredible. No trees to obscure the views. Natures frig is the best!
Thank you very much :D Glad you enjoyed and i hope you are well!
Looks a great place to camp. The drone footage and music took this video to another level.
Absolutely delighted the drone footage is doing it for legends like yourself, Brian 😁
You make camping look so appealing 🌱🥰
I had ancesters from Scotland, McClanahan I believe. The mountains are very green and mossy and rocky with cool lochs. I have hikes in the Himalayas, Hindu Kush, High Sierras, rocky Mtns, Big Sur Cali, Canadian Mtns, and the Ozarks. Would love to see Scotland. Your vids are great fun. I live in the land of millions of wild boar , rattlesnakes, tarantulas, and tornados, Texas. Carry a gun or die here.
Thank you sharing this, Paul! We reached the summit of a mountain yesterday, but had to abandon camp due to the severe weather. It's a death trap towards the summit as well, very, very rocky. You should try it sometime! But never undermine a Scottish mountain because of it's low height.
Monty, this is magnificent. It is off the scale superb. Stayed at Gameshope bothy a few times and climbed White Combe/lochcraig head a good number of times but never camped. This is your best video to date.......take a bow Sir. Brilliant
Aw thanks mate! Onwards and upwards with the content. Hope you guys are loving the drone footage. Will need to check the bothy out as didn't know one was in the area. But thanks so much for the comment, means a lot!
How have you been? Have you been back out?
@@MontyOutdoors wildcamp over the road at Broad Law and an overnight after the Lowther Skyline. Avoiding the A82/A9 just now ... honeypots at the weekend.....mobbed. A9 Perth to Dunkeld is a disaster.....albeit work is making A9 safer👌👍
Great video. It looked lovely, especially the shots of the sunset. Loved the outtakes, that’s me in all my school videos too! Take care xx
Laineyyyyy. I'm gonna take you out on your first wild camp. Me and Meena will look after you 😁 x
Fantastic scenery. I love the Leave No Trace ( LNT) philosophy . Here in Ontario Canada LNT is also being encouraged so the next camper can enjoy the same location.
Another qaulity video. Your just getting better.
Looking forward to more
Thanks for the really nice comment, again, Scott. Not a fan of my next video, but the one after has potential! Hope you are well, sir!
Cracking video !!! And what a place . Been hiking the Moffat Hills for years...love it. Loads of good info and cracking drone footage too. Subd 🤙👍🏴
Thank you very much for your support my friend :D I hope you had an outstanding New Year
@@MontyOutdoors and you mate all the best 👍 this is the year for wildcamping for sure 👍
Fantastic video mate the drone footage is amazing !!
Cheers for the kind words, Tony. Much appreciated, mate, and glad you enjoyed :D
This is where I'd like to go when I finally come camping with you Monty, looks really calm and serene, drone footage looks great too bud!
I'll be revisiting the place when the conditions are stormier if you fancy it then? Me and a few others plan on doing it!
I would love to camp but would get frightened when it comes dark. You look very fit and healthy 💪
Looks a decent spot Monty👍🏕👌 Drone adds a different aspect😎🤘
You gonna head over sometime, mate? Cracking walk and spot!
@@MontyOutdoors aye, will at somepoint Monty, some great footage. Always up for new locations👍🏕👌
@@Colinrussellscottishwildcamper You should get a drone, Colin. Will help your channel.
@@MontyOutdoors had one, but it flew away🤣🤣
Who knew there was a loch named after me?! Looked amazing :) hope you had a great time x
You gonna visit it, Sarah? 😛 Genuine one of my best camping trips!
@@MontyOutdoorsdefinitely will this year :)
Hello Monty. Good video mate. Glad to see you made it. Nice high pitch. Looks like were I camped was boggy. Looked like you had a great time and Thanks for the shout out. Atb Steve 👍
All you had to do was go up the wee hill behind it and there were LOADS of quality spots. Tried to add your channel at that reference point but YT won't let me. Stupid bugs.
Yes I saw them spots walking around. But favoured the spot I was on because the rain and wind was on its way 👍.
@@stevesdaysoff2759 Steve, it was so damp and marshy there. You have a Hillberg, get it tested!
Yes I thought it would be soft ground because of the rain we had. It was quite firm when I went. Atb Steve 👍
What a bonnie Loch, looks very isolated. Truly stunning part of the 🌎. Amazing aerial shots
Glad you enjoyed it, Tamson! Are you off out this weekend?
@@MontyOutdoors I wish, we never try anything as adventurous as you but the kids would love it up there.
@@walkingwithtamson It's an interesting walk, but there were kids coming down when we were going up. There was a family once we reached the top too!
@@MontyOutdoors Might just give it a go sometime!
Hi Monty! What a place! Certainly looks worth the effort to get up there. Fabulous scenery👍
Hi Des, hope you're good mate. It was genuinely one of my best experiences!
Another good watch love following your adventures, keep up the good work stay safe 😎👌⛺️
I've got plenty more in the tank mate. Were you out this weekend?
@@MontyOutdoors unfortunately not work is very hit at miss so money is the problem Sod’s law I have got the time lol 😂
What a trip😁🤙🏻
Best wan yet wae us. Was a worldy.
Cheers for the wee lamp review Fudge. Got one delivered yesterday. 👍🏻
@@westcoastcamping2985 no problem mate I love it
I’m addicted to your channel 😆
Monty, we took our Cloud Peak 2 for a wild camp and first vlog to Hallin Fell, a couple of weeks ago. We got battered by gusts of, I'm guessing 50mph and woke up to a healthy covering of snow. The tent performed very well.
Oh I'm not disputing it can handle those winds. I've seen a £30 Tesco tent with fibreglass poles handle constant 35 to 40 mph winds, I just wouldn't make a habit of it! I had my Naturehike Opalus 2 out in really flat ground this weekend and see when these tents are taut: they are robust... really solid. I've spoken to someone else and they had it out in 60 mph winds and it coped. Did you video the experience to show us? :)
@@MontyOutdoors we didn't take any video of it in the wind Monty, just the video on our CZcams channel. 👍
ANOTHER great location sir.and video.keep up the good camping videos
Jim, you're a legend. Thank you so much for the lovely and supportive comment :)
Awesome. Love it
Thank you!
I always thought uk was just towns and cities because it looks so small on my map. But it looks like there’s lots of open spaces. I’m amazed.
Where is it you stay?
Nice spot!
One of my best spots and one of my favourite camps! You should try it:)
Great opening and some epic scenes really set the scene. Proper cooking as well. 👍🏕
Thanks for the comment and view, mate. Really appreciated! Hope all is well :)
Nice one, another great camp!
Beautiful setting as always.
Cheers for the support, Paul. Hope you are well, mate.
I wouldn't take the canoe up there however!
Well done monty , remember me when your famous , but seriously this is next level stuff now with the drone footage , superb ! 👍🏻
I won't forget about you, Ally x
Great footage , i did the circular route last year in the pouring rain great to see it on a lovely clear day , must return Atb K
I saw that video a while back mate! How are you feeling since completing the WHW? Was there any major fatigue or that?
Nice footage and video mate
Thanks for the kind words, sir! Hope you are well :)
What a beautiful place and lovely video ❤️🔥❤️
Scotland is full of these places!
Beautiful thank you my friend!🤟👍
You're welcome, Nicola. Hope you are well!
Some good footage Monty. enjoyed.
Cheers Terry!
Excellent monty great shots. Stunning looking place atb 😎👍
Cheers Tam. That's me now out in my own drone and getting the hang of it, so expect more in future, sir!
The small loch just of the main Loch would be great to just lounge in on a hot day. Do you happen to know the depth of that small loch - cheers
Great camp Monty, fantastic scenery and the weather was kind for once! 🙏
How dare the weather be nice, Danny! I want rain! Glad you enjoyed mate, thanks for taking your time to watch and comment as per
Well done chris great video
Thanks Alan. Speak tonight on the chat?
Great video mate-footage from the drone is superb. Loved the location and longer content. Thank you for sharing. 🏴🏕🔥
Thanks mate! It was Fudge's drone as all the batteries were dead on mine, but it's similar quality. A lot of people are requesting longer content, so I plan on doing a trial of longer videos in June. Glad you are enjoying it big stuff!
Great video! Your drone footage was great! 😎
Glad you enjoyed it mate. There will be more drone footage for you guys when weather permits ❤
Spot on that mate. Plus your intro/outrigger is amazing. Proper 80s vibe love it.
Glad, you enjoyed, sir! And thanks mate, I do enjoy a bit of retro/synth and it was different.
nice one Monty. great video footage loved it. one of my favourite places to camp also
Mate, I am buzzing to get back! An amazing spot.
Nice video!
Cheers Jay!
Looks a great place to pitch up monty. I liked your wee outtakes reel at the end. Gave me a chuckle 😂
Meena said I should do more of them and just add them in at the end. When is Partay in Glen Strae happenin'?
Nice location
Terry supporting the channel like the legend he is 😀
soooo NEED t come camping with you monty sometime ..
He was showing off with those chicken fillets haha looked a good camp out
He's planning on doing his own outdoor cooking channel on CZcams that I am going to help him with. I reckon he will be popular.
nice one Monty i'
m going there tomorrow
What a spot that is mate 👍🏻
Thanks mate. Really appreciate your time watching and commenting!
They'd sell a lot more tents if they were green instead of red
100% with you mate.
with the best will in the World you guys are most definitely Nucking Futs but.... I suppose I like a lot of people are watching you with a morbid sense of fascination as in Oh No what now ? ATB lads don't let your danglies freeze
Thank you! You'll be amazed to see the weather conditions I've been out in my other videos. Hope you are well :)
Have emailed you monty great video
Hi Brian, I'll get to that e-mail shortly. Been really busy, but will respond as soon as mate.
Good stuff Monty , its a cracking location up there ...cheers Stevie
Glad you enjoyed, Stevie! Thanks for watching.
Iron cookware and chopping boards ? How do you carry all of this equipment? Do you have donkey? Amazing.
Yeah we keep him off camera
10:12 the cooking?
What’s the watch he’s wearing?
Accurist mens yellow dial chronograph 👍🏻
@@furiousfudge8240 thanks FF
@@bugsymalone1660 no probs 👍🏻
What’s the difference between a loch and a lake please ?
We call them Lochs in Scotland but no difference to what others call a lake.
hi monty Outdoors have you any idea why . GazTheExplorer has no videos on his channel at the moment . I saw you on a camping trip with him love his channe james
Hi James. Gaz has made his videos private as he wants to focus on enjoying his trips, as he hasn't enjoyed videoing as of late.
I think we should start a movement to bring Gaz back.

@@MontyOutdoors Good idea Monty Outdoors his videos are great and yours are good too
