my small gear never starts in the same position yours does, i dont understand

My dear, it doesn't matter. Just follow these steps
1)take the small gear out and install it into the lower left socket.
2)run the machine until the small gear points to lower left.
3)remove the smaller gear and install it at any other socket.
4)let the machine runs again, but this time pay attention to the bigger gear, until it points to upper right.
5)remove the smaller gear again and insert it back to lower left.
6)make the machine runs until both pointers of the gears overlapped each other.
