I remember when I was in a Flak panzer on panzer storm, some of my team mates were flying around using stukas and bombers and they were constantly being harassed by enemy planes. So when they get shot at and chased they knew where I was and flew directly to me and I shot the enemy planes out of the sky. My team mates always replied with a thanks and goodjob. That put a smile on my face.
The Bofors 40mm L/60 is the bane of my existence. I have such a hard time leveling up aircraft because most of my deaths don't come from crashing or enemy aircraft, but instead from some dude spending the match sitting on his superior Swedish gaming chair achieving air superiority without aircraft
Pro tip for any AA tank. It's always good to wait for the enemy planes to commit to their dives. Most of the time, they don't know where you are til it's too late. If you hide under trees, they'll complete miss you. Once you know they won't have enough time to lift and fly elsewhere, you've guaranteed a kill
I have advice on how to kill things other than planes. Use the Wirbelshit or Equip canister shot for the Crusader AA. Nothing like a full auto 40mm Scattergun to wreck someone’s day.
Even though I already maxed out the Flakpanzer4, I'm still sticking with the version 1(Wirbelwind) instead the version 2(ostwind) since I'm a sucker to the rapid fire.

In fact a big bomber is a juicy target and you probably using the ver1 wrong in any aspects getting yourself bombed. And just to let you know the ver1 was so fun to me I haven't even upgrade the entire tree since its job is to camp on the back of the map and deal the plane/bomber rather joining the fight with the other tanks and/or infantry.
It seems that all of the autocannon have VT fuses. It makes sense in a gameplay sense given that trying to account for lead and elevation is really difficult, especially for the slower firing guns in WT, where direct hits are necessary to damage an aircraft unless the vehicle actually had VT fuze rounds. In a more casual game, like Battlefield 5 where vehicles is not the sole focus of the game, the lack of VT rounds would make aircraft very powerful since it would be a very difficult to counter without aircraft of your own.

Honestly I wouldve liked it more if they removed VT for the smaller calibered AA guns and lowered plane health, makes more sense than just hosing down a plane with vt shells that it never had
That's how it is IRL but in Battlefield 1 and 5, if you lead your shots properly the round will explode in the air, dealing damage to plane even if you don't aim all that well.
I love using the Crusader AA MkI against infantry. It somehow makes people that much more upset, that not only did I get me their plane kill streak, but I’m also actively helping the team secure points.
Oh but it’s not the Crusader AA; it’s the “Valentine AA” which wasn’t a real vehicle and the devs made it up because they were too lazy to make a Crusader chassis and instead wanted to reuse the Valentine chassis. As a history and AFV nerd, I’m STILL pissed about that blatant show of laziness.

But the vehicles and variants that they just entirely made up or *really* hacked together annoy me.

Ppl sleep on the HMG anti-air. That shit is so underrated, especially on the pacific maps. You can take out a full hp plane in one pass relatively consistently. This is relative to normal pilots, not the god tier ones that see this shit coming.

It takes such a long time to kill an aircraft by ground vehicles/weapons. But they can kill in really a short time. Aircrafts are overpowered in all bf games.
I was lethal with those cannons! I'd camp them out, i'd notice any dive from the planes and run like hell, then mount the gun and destroy them while they be turning. I missed a few of the great fighters on them planes and i've lost to a few too. But damn, those anti air could make u win a game.
Im am unreasonably bothered by the fact, they are called flakpanzer 4 version 1 and 2 instead of Wirbelwind (whirlwind) for 1 and Ostwind (eastwind) for 2

As much as I love WW2, I think Hell Let Loose and others have it covered and I don’t trust a AAA studio to do WW2 without ruining it with fake made up optics and accessories. You are right though, NO MORE FUTURE settings for BF. Modern settings are perfect for the game style. BF3 is still my favorite, but BF4 was incredible. For some weird reason, I did great in BF3 but was awful in BF4. Never understood why lol.

Especially their range is way too far, one flak at the border of a map often controls more than half of the air. The resulting game between pilots and flaks becomes really boring. To dive in as pilot and confronting the flak directly is not easy and high risky. Also other planes or fliegerfaust idiots can finish you off. Therefore most of the time it gets to a stalemate where neither flak or planes get any kills. Thats why i hate flak and especially flak-tanks. If you were a pilot yourself, you wouldnt use flaks consistently

As a lvl 190 ace pilot this is disgusting. Every damn round i have to destroy like 10 AA guns and tanks, with a damn fighter plane. AAs are just annoying
panzerfaust is not a anti air craft gun, it is a anti tank weapon it's name translates to tank fist or armor first with a effective firing range of 60 meters or 200 feet no way your hitting a aircraft with that

Does anyone else find AA to ruin the game for planes in this game? AA in spawn zones, players with AA tanks hiding in spawn, the guns are so op you barely have any time to turn back before being shot down, hell for bombers, I remember AA being much less annoying in BF1.

Why is the 4 barrel flak gun only on the flak panzer? They should have added stationary ones in the game the Germans used tons of them not just on tanks
And the fact they would leave the 88 out is super disappointing
