How could you “dump” a pet? When I lost my kitty after nearly 16 years, it left a big empty spot in my heart. I still have her younger partner in crime. She has been such a great companion during the isolation of the pandemic. God bless you for the care you give these graceful little creatures.
Theyre probably homeless, couldnt afford to pet them or something. Thats why they "dump" there in a safe place knowing it will be taken care of instead of killing or abusing it

Humanity for all of it's brilliance can be very soulless and brutal. But in the end, we probably will not understand the motivating factors of the person who left the little puppy much less ... everyone else. Still think that humans are A ok, otherwise why would dogs and cats love us so much?
Narcissists and psychopaths have no problem dumping animals. My narcissistic mother did it all the time, if one of us kids brought home a stray animal. She would dump them and we'd cry our eyes out.
They aren't pets or they can't afford to feed them...better placed there where they know they are fed by volunteers than left wrapped in a bag in the woods to die. 👍

Someone could close you in a room without food for 2 weeks and you could do JUST FINE.
Does that mean that if u survive those 2 weeks u are safe forever? I dont think so. 3rd week, you would feel very weak. 4th and you would die.
Puppies and kittens get separated from there mums,brothers and sisters when they are young and sold of to a new family.the cats are more likely to survive more than the dogs outside as they can jump,climb up trees, they are usually outdoor animals. lucky this woman found the puppy as he was alone with no mum/dad to teach him their doggy ways.

Sprinkle brewers yeast on her coat and if she likes to lick her coat sprinkle some there! It’s full of b vitamins and amino acids, fleas hate it it drives them away maybe ticks also! Look up raw meat diet and how to feed it it’s like really really easy and your dog may never need a vet for years! My two cats lived 20 years one with a hyperthyroid they passed a couple of months apart! They maintained very well! Blossom Dearie and Emily Dickensen I called them! I had a greyhound also he was amazing! Love that puppy and remember it’s easier to teach them now than later! My Fifi learned new things because our lives were in a constant state of flux and she loved being a SD and working dog she felt she had a mission with me to protect me from my worse impulses and she was almost always right! If she sucked up to a bad egg it was to distract them and keep me safe! She did this more than once! She was an IG and brilliant dog! Bad eggs actually feared her I saw this in a few we met! She scared some who wondered what she might do to them while I wondered how she knew such things! Dogs often have second sight!
Poor little puppy... he didn't like it at first, being picked up but he could tell the lady wasn't going to harm him by her mental touch. Thanks for doing this. He was one lucky little guy.

Very typical sight in Greece. They get fed by basically everyone, they wait by places that sell food to steal or get fed, they hunt pigeons and rats... Honestly, I've never seen a skinny stray cat. Unfortunately, dogs are far more unlucky.

People don't take too kindly to having packs of big, dirty and hungry dogs roaming through the streets even though most just want some food - and a doctor. Not to mention the stray problem is so big that many cities just can't contain it, and since they're big dogs it's hard for them to find as much food as they need.

Zhorik is so sweet and was obviously accepted by the cats at the colony. The colony is an amazing place and the cats look so healthy, God bless you for doing what you do for these animals. The neutering project is excellent also as it helps reduce the number of kittens needing care and attention. It's lovely to see Zhorik with his new owner, I wish them a happy life together. There's a bunch of people who does that, I used to rescue cats and dogs on the streets and find them new homes, there's a bunch of places where people dump animals often.
I think the punishment should be simple. You dump a puppy, you get dumped in the woods. No phone, no food, no help.

Yes I wish homes for all animals and people. As a note, those kitties look very well fed and beautiful. I think these ladies are doing the best they can with what they have to work with.

Not all of them are spayed...they fixed the ones they could catch so some may be pregnant.

However, I will like to give a special thank you to the former owner, even thou you abandoned him, You had the HEART to leave him where you knew he would be found, amongst stray cats that you knew the rescuers would come to feed. You kept Zorik out of harms way and for that Bless you! Plz next time and hopefully there will be no next time, take the animal to a shelter the next one might not be lucky!!!

However, you do know Feral Cats within cities are very helpful with controlling the overpopulation of field mice, disease carrying pigeons, worldwide Norway/sewer, house rats, and mice that spread many diseases, bite children, climb into baby's cribs at night due to the smell of milk on them, chew through household food-costly, will destroy and overrun people's homes costing them major monthly extermination money to get rid of. Unfortunately! Some people can never get rid of them, so in these regards having Feral Cats in the neighborhood is extremely helpful.

I am honest: I would love to have these people also dumped somewhere.
Exactly, no one would do that and if that happened it's unlikely he would be found right away, what is way more likely is that the guys who made this video put the puppy there before the video started made up this story for publicity and then asked for donations.
Also the pup isn't even a month old and the mortality of puppies that young without their mothers is very high, if the video is not fake and they gave it for adoption he's most likely dead.
@The Confessor a bad person could easily sell/gift the puppy to someone or give it to an animal shelter, both of these options would come to mind to anyone (who specifically doesn't want to keep a puppy) way before "let's leave it in the cat colony"
Then finding that abandoned puppy in a cat colony in perfect conditions is even more unlikely, saying "educate yourself because humans are bad by nature" doesn't make it any less unlikely.

Another possibility is the previous owner cannot buy food for the puppy. And after knowing someone is regularly feeding the stray cats in that area, they dumped the puppy there in hope it can be fed.

As far as getting rid of an animal, you could do a lot worse than leaving them at a park that has shelter and a regular supply of food and water.. where I live a lot of people release their unwanted pets on roads and highways.. it's horrible. I'm glad this puppy was left in a place where he could be safe.

Luckily they took the dog to a place with a shelter and food and other animals, though, and not like some people who dump puppies in a box by the road.

Recently been a dog owner. Watching that puppy run for his food made me wanna take care of my dog even more. Mine is helping me with my anxiety and depression.

well, many places do have only killer shelters, where all mixed animals get 100% killed. They have more chances in this colony, where they get food. It is easy to just condemn people, as it take faocus away from society that needs to change.
They dont understand we domesticated them so they cant survive in the wild like wild animals. Cats can survive do to their independence and hunting skills. but dogs are no longer wild animals and need a good home.
@@vikinglife6316 Nah dogs can be self sufficient and form packs for survival. The problem is that they become dangerous. There have been a lot of incidents in India where children have been attacked and killed by strays.
some shelters require u to pay to drop them off, maybe thats why they dump them
Sometimes shelters can't afford to keep them themselves and would probably end up euthanizing due to possible food shortage or the like. It's a shame they are being dumped, but at the very least people took them to where others were on the notion of "someone is feeding them" as opposed to just dropping them off at the side of the road. There will always be misfortune whether it be animal or human, but it's nice that there are those who care enough to do what they can so not everyone has to suffer.

I had someone abandon some cats near my home about 2 years ago now. I have dogs that I keep inside and one of them is not very cat friendly. But I trapped and got them spayed/nurtured. I have a colony of 10, all fixed now. I got them 3 heated bed cat houses. I love them and they love me. I get greeted by the cats same as a dog greets. Hardest thing was de worming them, Its hard to do through food and cant handle them like a dog.
I too have dogs inside and there were kittens dumped off...they found their way to my garage.....i know have 8...got them all spayed and neutered...i know how you feel....so VERY happy this sweet boy was found...God bless you all...🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤

I got one of my cats in a similar way. He was about 5 months old and we believe someone must have dumped him near where I worked (there were quite a few feral cats in that area, but he seemed very comfortable with humans) and he somehow found his way into our warehouse where one of my coworkers found him. He went up to everyone begging for food, but no one else could take him. I got him in a box and got him some food and had to bathe him with Dawn soap to kill all the fleas on him (he was too young to be given flea medication). Now he follows me around everywhere begging to play. Lol
I don't understand how people can just dump their pets...
I can't believe it! I always wanted a pet, but my family says no, and seeing people being ungrateful is so disgusting.
I get worried when someone gives a family member or friend a dog or cat for a gift. You don't really know if they can take care of it.
Sometimes people don’t have the money or time or something else to take care of a pet
Sadly, some people treat animals as toys. They buy them for their toddlers to play with and then throw them away when this child loses interest.
Cats can survive in the wild but dogs cant.

Their bellies may be fed & they may have some kind of shelter, but they need & are all worthy of unconditional love. If you have a pet, please remember to spay/neuter them. If you don't have a pet, but are hopeful to one day have one, please don't shop. Please foster or adopt a dear shelter pet.
