The gyoza fairy is canon. You just have to pay attention to the opening. He appears there besides Kikurage and Johnson, so who knows? Maybe we are seeing it in the actual series at some point xD
The gyoza fairy is actually Canon 😂 if you go into the intro, right before caiman has a gyoza as his head you see the gyoza fairy running around. Also the gyoza fairy actually does have a role in the story (though its SUPER later) but he is legit just a fairy that manages gyoza love

Yeah this show is so unlike a lot of anime that I need to see more of. It reminds of JoJo in the sense there is not anything quite made like this.

Conceptually VERY different, but a series I feel is kinda similar tonally is Golden Kamuy. One minute a bear is degloving a guy's face, the next it's a rustic cooking anime, all the while it's very much driven by scary/goofy/loveable characters, both hero and villain. I find on the production side it's a little lacklustre, but it's never outright bad.
Dude I LOVE Golden Kamuy so much!! Such an underrated series
Dorohedoro, Jojo and Golden Kamuy fandoms overlap frequently for a lot of good reasons (gore, seinen, comedy... and muscles).
Said it before but GK is perfect for these guys to react to..., historical drama, JoJo quality crazy characters and a great, classic "men on a mission" plot.
Just watched all of Golden Kamuy last week. It’s amazing!!! But they have had it on polls recently. Honestly doubt it wins one.

Shin is my favourite character in Dorohedoro and the same mangaka draw the main character Zaha Sanko in Dai Dark just look like Shin.
