I'm happy I got to experience this WAAAAAAY before Beyoncé became so popular. I'm in Portugal, right, but somehow my parents have satellite TV - there's this German channel VIVA, right? They put out the ballsiest tracks! I got so many trance classics out of that, but also something like this, which I never forgot, way before Beyoncé was the diva she became. Looking back at this I can't complain about my life - experiencing good music is about as good as it gets. Cheers everyone.
My mom is born in 1955, recently I talked to her about my teenage years. She remembered this videoclip, she distinctively called out the different colours in the background and there being only ladies in it. This made me smile A LOT! I too remember this, I was a young teen still growing about different styles of music, but this track was soo cool and special, I never forgot about it ;)
Years/decades later I'm a grown up, I've listened critically TO SO MANY THINGS - this track is still up there, truly. Amazing stuff. But I'm so proud the industry all around recognized this as a benchmark for years to come
