The reason why I believe they put oil in the case is to protect the chrome from scratching off severely in the plastic clam shell. That is unfortunate that one of yours has that gnarly scratch on the shoulder but they look amazing.
I think I read somewhere that the reason Metal Cooler is so greasy is due to the vac metal that was used on the figure. I had preorder remorse never getting it via Bandai or BBTS (which surprisingly reopened their preorders on him). So I went to eBay for a decent price (I paid less than if I ordered from BBTS). I gotta say, he truly is COOLER. Probably my #2 figure of the year and the only reason he isn't my #1 is the FEAR when articulating him. The moment I came across the same problem you noticed on the chest (that is so gonna cause chipping) I treated him even more fragile in that area. But I can't deny it is SOOOOOOO satisfying posing him beating the crap out of Vegeta or Goku.
I think the most negative thing I can say (other than that midsection) is I'm kind of miffed this is the second Cooler with only two effect parts (the regernating arm and shoulder). I kind of want a giant energy ball (like the size of the first two releases of his Fourth Form younger brother) or little energy blasts. I can't help but anytime I look at him. I mess around with him a little more and damn does he look um COOL with the vac metal.
Soak em in some warm soapy water for like 30 minutes and give em a good rinse. Should get rid of most of the grease. Also if you're looking to protect the finish I'd grab some alclad clear coat. Specifically Alclad, most other clear coats will fog up the finish
That may not be helpful; it sounds like all of them have the oil/grease on them and it may be beneficial and/or done on purpose. Also, unsure exactly how the finish was done, don't want to risk damaging it.
I watched a certain reviewer, review one a month ago and I liked the figure so much that I wanted to snag one. When i saw the price on BBTS, it was $180😢😮...I commented that on his video and mentioned how I didn't think that the figure was worth the price, even as cool as it was. He called me liar about making up prices and was rude about it 😅 he's always so uptight lolol. Sorry I'm airing my grievances.
That's... pretty bad? I mean, that's true, they can't get it through official distribution so price is higher. Oddly enough, they don't even have it yet LOL. Not worth $180, if you look enough you can find sealed on secondhand Japan sites for maybe $130 shipped. Even in some FB groups, they're letting them go $140-$150.

That's my thoughts on the finish, but I am talking to someone familiar with the process who isn't sure if that may be. But it's the only best guess!
I wish we could get a non chrome ungreased metal cooler. It would make it much cheaper
