Up until six years ago, European inverters ruled the market. They have been since eclipsed by Chinese companies. The quality and functionality of Chinese inverters have continuously improved over the last decade.

Bought an Easun solar inverter/charger from Powland last year. It failed after 3 months of use. Filed a RMA, waited, no answer, after a couple of months answer "sorry to keep you waiting", "shall give you decision soon", then nothing. So buy on your own risk, do not suppose the "one year warranty" is something real.
Yeah most warranties are useless on most products, it's all junk made in China these days.
I'm using a Solax in Thailand. I'm happy with it so far. I also love the internet monitoring software that I have installed on my Android phone. The Solax allows you to pull the data from the Solax Cloud, or you can pull it locally from the inverter over wi-fi.
By the way I appreciate the no nonsense, well researched data that you provide.
Excellent video, informative and fast paced. Top job! I would have thought you may have mentioned Victron , a brand that has a great reputation and is taking an increasing share of the US market especially in motor homes.
I am in South Africa and GroWatt rules here. Also many people use DEYE / SUNSYNK inverters in 2022.
They are also available in Syria

I have 5 SMA Inverter since 2007 and they are producing. Last jear I bought a Chinese Inverter. in Summer he shutts down because he is to hot, in December broke the van, since he is down, the new van is not comming. I cant read mandarin.
So i will buy a new SMA or Fronius.
This can't convince others. 2007 to 2019 today 11years...During this time,China has "stolen" many advanced designs from other countries.Therefore, the products produced in China today must be better than ten years ago. Are you right?
I have Chinese Solarrun inverters now 7 years old and still working like new. Very good price outdoor inverters 3 phase. Still half price compared with SMA.

I'm doing a hybrid inverter build soon. I thought the European ones were just rebranded chinese ones.
I line in south America, we mostly use 110v but my air conditioner is 220v, what would you suggest: 2 120v parallel inverters or 1 240v + transformer?

Sir do you know is it possible to use Chinese version of Huawei in Europe grid? Chinese has nb/t32004 stndard which is 50Hz. Our grid is 50Hz and not in list of grid codes for EU. I have a good price to buy 50kw unit which is 30-40% cheaper than from EU supplier, difference seems to be only in list of grid codes as it seems. If you can share any advice I would really appreciate any reply. Thank you

Any chance you can do a similar product comparison for hybrid tied inverters in the 4-5 Kw range, and include Smart Advance mk1 inverter ... But then I'd love to see reviews like this w.r.t batteries and panels also.
We have a solar system installed today a 5kW Solis Inverter and 15 x 315 watt Jinko Solar panels. I want to know if these are reasonable systems?
It is a reasonable system. You could have gotten away with 4 KW inverter too. Although with 5 KW you would make most out of your panels

What’s your views on Goodwe inverters?
I live in a region of Canada where the temperature can drop to -33 F (-35 c ) for up to a week with humidity levels over 60%. Bone chilling. ABB being Swedish has a comparable climate. How does cold affect your choice of an inverter that would be housed in a outdoor battery (insulated, not heated) shelter? Could be below frost line : four to six feet deep.

Incridable karthi - Hello, their are some batteries that integrate that have their own heating system. I do not remember the brand. Some of the information I have glanced is that for example the Inergy Kodiac or other li-on batteries can be discharged at cold temperatures but cannot be charged. I think that the different manufacturers should be able to answer this question. Some companies do not publish complete all the specs up front this type of information. Their is one company that impart’s different information according to your level of knowledge. They sell but they but also give much information. I think they are based in Maine. I also have a problem sourcing lithium batteries close buy. If I buy from the US I get hit with a min. 20% hit due to currency exchange rate. Their is an established store chain that supplies batteries item related to solar but base everything on the Trojan battery. But their is a store that is in a remote area, that also provides link to a company that does design and installation in remote areas such as hunting or phishing cabins. In some cases everything is flown in using airplanes that land on lakes (beaver or otter planes are used and renowned bush planes in Canada and the US). I have a cabin that is 120 north of a big city that is on grid. It can be raining in the city but -34F out there. With all the info I gathering, I want to design a solar-wind system. I cannot buy everything at the same the same time, but switches, buss bar, DC breaker box, fuses, cables,etc can be purchased incrementally without losing out on technology changes regarding panels, small wind generators. My idea that buying the best quality peripheral parts will ensure that they would still be relevant in the future. I just found the channel: Alt-e

There was no information on which models are pure or modified sine wave as per the checklist at the beginning.
The inverters mentioned here with price are all pure sinewave

First of all Huawei 4kW inverter isa hybrid inverter (you can connect a battery on them). 2. the price for 3kW sma vers 40/41 is ca 680euro!

I dont know what brands you are talking about so I cannot say. Best for solar that are also cheap are deep cycle batteries from a brand called trojen. Tubular batteries are mostly sold in India and Pakistan

Is Growatt Tier 1 inverter?
Could you explain what you mean by Tier 1 or Tier 2 ? These terms originated in Automotive and are clear, Tier 1 sell to OEM.
Hi these are not tier1 OEM suppliers. Tier1 here implies higher quality manufacturers who have thier own R&D and produce new designs. Tier 2 most reverse Engineer

Battery ki specification sheet per maximum charge amps dekh lain. Yeh battery battery per depend kerta hai. Buhat ziada amps per charge kernay say battery jaldi kharab hoti hai
If Battery is C20 rating you can charge with 15 Amps or if it is C10 rating you can charge with max 30 Amps but better to go with low Amps.
It is a weird market. Where you live seems to be determining of what brands you can choose between. I know A lot of brands you mention but then Sungrow for instance I've never heard of. In Netherlands mostly Omnik, GoodWe and Growatt are ok working Chinese brands. But I suspect some might have models under a rebranded name in other locations. And then SolarEdge is a huge residental player as well (unfortunately). They are really expensive compared to string inverters, but installers seem to want to push those really badly.
True. Sungrow is not known in UK too where I am based. In fact Growatt is more popular. The brands selected were based on worldwide sales numbers

I have no data to check that. When I get that, I will forward you. I just have seen Transformer less inverters sweep the market in hot countries

Good video but where did you get your price? You just guess them or what.inverter are not expensive.6000 watt inverter is around $400-$700.I did a research online,Amazon has some good one and cheap
I have mentioned the prices of Hybrid Inverters that accommodate battery backup. They have charge controller built into them. They also have dual MPPT for two strings of panels

You need to read more about inverters. This video is about on grid inverters which are inherently pure sine inverters totally superior to off grid pure sine inverters

i have checked inside the fangpusun devise. the composant are really different inside. in a look it is the same, but the reliablity and the accurency (even if at the begining) of the product are not the same. if you are a distributor like me, i not advise to sell it. for a consummer, he can try. that is not a big risk. but check often the regulation of the voltage (that didn't work for me)
My expensive "Fronius" inverter lasted 10 years, i am now 1 year with a cheaper "Growatt!?

Stronger Chinese solar inverters make a bad noisy on 1.5 - 4.0 MHz ranges including 1.8 MHz and 3.5 MHz Radioamateur low bands. We have an One at 500 meters away the EASUN 3,2 kW solar inverter, and that makes + - S 9 jamming noise for me on 1.8 MHz band all day long...Terrible situation for HAM's

Tier 1.5 in that the efficiency is superb but jury is still out on their reliability. Not enough data right now. Its one of the better inverters out of China

Solar Edge has around 2% of market share. While it is notable but its not significant. If it drives the price low, it can become a major player
The best inverter is American, Exeltech is more expensive, but produce no RFI and are reliable for twice the price of chinese inverters

Those who say the chinese inverters is as reliable as SMA etc are living in a dream world - come back to me in 11 years and see how your systems are doing, SMA Sunny boy 4000 still pumping out up to 3.8kw on good days and has zero maintenance, not even bothered cleaning the panels generated 39.3 MeggaWattHours over the last 11 years.

Chinese high frequency inverters are copy of Taiwan design. I rate Taiwanese and Chinese inverters almost equal with Taiwanese inverters being very good quality especially Voltronic

Solis, Goodwe and Victron are not even on this list, yet you have some inverters that are not even available. Stop using market research from 2008 and 2013 thats just bonkers. You need to pay for the market data from 2019 from a notable research company. Also you should be breaking down inverters by residential, residential storage, commercial, commercial storage, and utility.

Components today are so cheap and advanced that it all seems like rip-offs.
They have transformers inside. They need copper. Copper is expensive. Than there is labour cost for assembley. Than there is logistics
It is not that simple to produce with a few chips etc the diodes, capacitors and etc should be good in quality for inverter to last more than a decade.
Whereas you can even today buy 50$ 3 kw inverter from China and it will run for about a few minutes I assure you that.

This has to do with how last century was . Since in last century only European colonial power had money ,any stuff they used were branded as products used by rich on planet .
But luckily things are changing for better now and now other ppl like Chinese , Indian , Indonesia etc also have started to have rich ppl and thus monopoly of western brand to claim as stuff used by rich ppl is getting broken now .
This is exactly what is current trade war between China and USA is all about . USA dreamed earlier that they would lead world in innovation forever but now Chinese are ahead of USA in Ai tech and it can be easily seen that in future there is nothing which Chinese can't produce .so westerner are in panic mode . Now they don't have imperialist power to force or loot other countries and thus their luxury lifestyle is going to end

The mpp solar pip 5048 has much more advantages and features than a Magna sine that costs over 5000$ ... And it runs without batteries .
Chinese human rights is terrible. I will ALWAYS pay more for a product build in a country where they value human rights, even if it is the same quality (which often it is not).
The same US CEO’s that make $1 to 50M annually are the same ones that don’t provide good pay and benefits and have off-shored manufacturing to China, Korea, Vietnam and India to keep their high profit margin and stock dividends rolling in. All while they fly their side chicks on biz jets.

SMA, Fronius, Danfoss and most of the european inverters simply cannot be compared with chinese products which are ridiculous copies. If you keep in mind that the return time for solar installation is about 10 years you wouldn't buy chinese unless you got some bribe from their seller

In 2019-2020 China copy everything and so well that is hard to tell the difference just to sell for half the price just to bid out European market fair play cos European Union can charge wathever they want and yes I got iPhone made in China and and yes I got Chinese Easun inverter 3kv for 400£ instead European one for 1200£ this bloke forgot to tell one important thing about European inverter that some of them in European markets give you only 5years warianty on australian market the same inverter 10years warianty so dozent boder me if in 10years chinis break down and have to buy same one again still chipper
Chinese components are crappy. I do prefer anything else the soonest is not made in China. Reasons cheap made and doesn’t last plus I boycott anything coming out of China!
