I am so tired of athletes, and sports in general, being treated like they have a rightful claim to some kind of higher purpose other than simply being entertainers. Sports are just another facet of the entertainment industry, not some honorable endeavor with high ideals. It's bad enough that entertainers and celebrities get special treatment, but the way most people seem to think that athletes are any different is disturbing. In this case, I don't know if her race had as much to do with Biden's actions as the fact that she is a high-profile celebrity within a demographic that he feels he needs to cater to.

Brittney admitted she broke the law and admitted that she knew marijuana was illegal at the time.
What are we saying Russia did wrong? If there’s any bias, wouldn’t it be on the US by asserting US citizens don’t have to follow the laws they don’t agree with while in Russia.

They could make sex workers attend classes to learn about health issues and how to defend themselves. They could make sure sex workers get paid and pay taxes on their earnings.

Good on you for securing a career with the military.
This thread allows me to use Navy terminology and flashbacks. Had a satisfying career and achieved some of my goals while being on active duty.
Married and my life shifted away from me to family. Going on 36 years now, gray hair, moving slower, increased tolerance for differences, accepting faults, forgiving and an emotion as mysterious as the seas are: love is like the roots of a tree. You can't see it, yet without it the tree will eventually fall.
USS Midway now a museum in San Diego, CA.
Your points were full speed ahead. If our own active duty aren't given a consideration because of bad decisions why should civilians be given it?
Would a CEO give his competition a life jacket if it was sinking? Hardly, seems like the excuse bug has only weakened character and destroyed personal accountability.
In Japan, one shipmate from our squadron was driving drunk. Killed a Japanese father on the road.
This is when the lesson hit home about staying away from being an example of the ugly American!
Japanese court convicted him. 15 years then upon release had to go through court martial proceedings because of AWOL. GenOrder: quit my Post only when properly relieved.
Yes, remember when you pcs to your next duty station you had to wait until your replacement arrived. This follows that if you did leave command would be undermanned which means increased work load for others. A replacement changes the dynamics of manpower. Personnel Command have to replace AWOL personnel which costs.
Also, drunk or reckless driving and manslaughter including the general article are used. Needless to say he had to serve his time within the Japanese prison system.
There was a special section for Americans serving time at the prison. I believe about 60 if my memory is correct.
Also, because he removed the father who is responsible for the wife and three children he became the default. And it was something of contention and just a foreign concept to him. He was responsible for the care of 4 people. I believe in the beginning his family supported that Japanese mother and children.
Serious lesson to learn. Don't go hiking in that part of the woods during hunting season.
      Does that fit?
Long winded I know. Studied law!
      We serve with honor!!
Except never want to remember eating green eggs, powdered milk. Hockey puck burgers, sugar water, long lines for chow, haircuts, or taking JP5 showers.

Considering her long list of previous offences with minimum punishment in the US, she probably thought she was above the law and would always get away with it. This seems to be the only plausible explanation why she would do something as incredibly silly as travelling by plane with illegal drugs. Sad story, however it could have been avoided if she had been punished accordingly when she first committed violent acts instead of letting her go with a slap on the wrist. The rule of law doesn't apply to celebrities in the US.

My observation was that after reading a sampling of the comments, I felt my stomach twist a little with outrage and sadness. At the very least the callous disregard for her and her life were very typical of deeply held racist beliefs. Take a glance and scroll down and read how hostile the comments are toward her. The one that points out "she has a criminal record, doesn't she?" Or the resentful "Oh yeah, I'm not the right color, gender, or sexual identity group to get the kind of attention she's getting." The comments questioning and scrutinizing her whole worth as a human being would not be so obvious painful and cringe-worthy to anyone who didn't get to grow up so painfully aware of that kind of malignant, suggestive disrespect from others.
