- It was an emotional day for Hildegard Steenkamp as sentencing proceedings in her fraud case continued. Under the cross-examination of Advocate Tilas Chabalala, Steenkamp made numerous concessions from her initial testimony in mitigation of sentence on Monday. Steenkamp was convicted of stealing more than R537-million from her former employer, Medtronic, through fraudulent VAT claims. eNCA's Hloni Mtimkulu was at the Johannesburg Specialised Commercial Crime Court in Palm Ridge.
