Highlighting a point that has been missed...about Kohli's selection. India had lost far too often in the semi-final / final despite dominating the initial rounds. Batting collapses has been a major factor...this is where I think the team management has hedged their risks to retain Kohli in the t20 side in the event the top 3 or 4 hitters fail. Throughout the tournament Kohli looked uncomfortable playing the Rohit style ...bang bang in the first 6 overs. But in the final ...3 top batters fell for low scores...and this was a god send opportunity for Kohli to play his normal style of cricket...start slow, hold one end, allow other hitters to play around him and then crank up the strike rate in the last few overs thru 6s and 4s. We have seen King Kohli the masterful batsman play this way successfully many many times in the 50 overs cricket to bring victory for India. Also this time around the feeling would have been that India have a strong and varied attack to defend a decent total.

Every team member has something to say today, and the people of India understand. After all, this is a Champion team. Congratulations, Team India!

Harsha... No one has come close to your level of capturing moments & emotions... both during live commentary as well as during post match conversations...
The big moments always had the live visuals and your voice to go by... thatz how i feel cricket..
But... just this once... i thought u missed a trick, in capturing the emotions behind Virat's T20I retirement announcement... The euphoria of the win, somehow made you miss the sombre reality of a great starting his adieu.... this moment of winning the cup was a culmination of sorts, but also a start to an end... the end of a glorious cricketing legacy...
During that interview with Virat, I nearly expected a little more heart, a bit more gravitas.... an extended pause maybe, when he said he is done....... you missed the moment, sir !!

I wish you had spoken of Surya's catch, perhaps you just forgot between so many emotional moments this champion team has given us today. Hearing from you of that moment would be a symphony as I love your commentary. Also, till some time ago, this was a "team of champions", but today, it is a "champion team" as there was no individual brilliance, rather small contributions from each one of them that brings the world cup home this time.

Hey Harsha, this World cup Win is special in a very different way. This is a shift in mindset for Indian cricket. Till now India was a team of Campions but the change in culture means India is now a Champion team. What I mean is, instead of depending on individual players India has now started to play as a Team where the role is more important than the players name. To me this is more significant change

I think it was a proper team win spearheaded by Rohit with his brains and bat and Bumrah with the ball. Every single player contributed in one or the other way in one or the other match. My heart raced like a Ferrari and tears filled my eyes. While it didn't sink in like 2007 or 2011 coz I was far younger then, this will be a good memory in the future. Especially the way we clawed back in after losing our way in the 15th over. Cheers!

The biggest challenge for Indian cricket administrators, coaches and players is to make sure India will not have to wait for another decade or more to win another ICC trophy.
The people in charge must make sure work starts to defend the T20 title in 2026 n win the 2027 ODI title for white ball cricket.
For red ball, the administrators must start planning to win the 2025 WTC final.

Both team played like , now or never.... fight till the last ball 😠 The last five overs of this tournament SA will never forget nor the India. Hardik should have been bowling that over Axar bowled ...it changed the game towards SA and 140 cr hearts started pumping with fear and hopelessness. Bumrah ... the genius all prepared to do what every india is expecting from him... 3rd ball as soon as a right handed Jansen swings his bat ... all his fears come in to reality and that ball made great noise on the stump , Arshdeep... calm, focused and totally in game senses bowled an outstanding over under pressure he will replace Siraj as soon as shami is fit in future. Hardik.. I knew why rohit trusted him for the this t20 wc and he said it publicly That hardik can magics and he is a luxury to have in team. I knew hardik would defend 16 runs and he chose to do it one wide full toss and then the game changer SKY was running towards his greatest and one of history catch of his career and he pulled the trophy in for the last time in this roller coaster ride of a World Cup final . India showed the world what it means to be champion in those last 5 overs and world witnessed a high class drama which will promote cricket in lot more countries in future. USA will start outsourcing local Indian cricketers from india in future 😝

To me, the tears that all the players shed was a testament to just how much pressure they have been under. It was just a release of all that pent up emotion and stress. I hope we as fans can be a little kinder to our players going forward. Winning a World Cup is not easy, even for the richest team. I feel like the pressure overwhelmed them in November against a mentally tough team, and I think it really benefited them that they were playing far away from home without the glare of 1.3 lakh spectators and Indian media, along with all the nationalist jingo and PM presence.

i remember kohli erupting in uncontrollable joy and ecstasy when india won @ adelaide and mcg in 2018-19, and given the sheer significance of the moment and the monumental impact of the achievement, it was in proportion
i thought yesterday too, after winning and healing the scars of 2016 final, 16 semi final he would also do something similar in celebration mode, if not go beyond, but then, the usually rohit sharma took over
i call this country the land of cricketing insanity, where we, the indian fans, the runners and sponsors of this great and iconic game, think, expect and mostly believe that our team, players of our nation, can and should win anything
imagine the inhuman pressure they go through. its tough to imagine
only people who are part of this never ending, way too much money filled drill, know the sheer pressure they are under
given the scars rohit, kohli, bumrah, jadeja, pandya, and to a lesser extent pant( on the field) have been through, i feel happy for them - we have no idea about the sheer pressure they are under, be it ipl or internationals
finally, after more than a decade, they have got something they craved for, so so much
rohit sharma also must be credited. he went the england cum virendra sehwag route - destroy the opposition if you can't defeat them, on your own
this team should seriously prepare and aspire to win the wtc final vs australia in england next year now
go down in the history books as one of the greatest test teams, if not all format teams, be it from india, or beyond

I have no interest in cricket and I only watch when India is in World Cup . I don’t even understand the game and only wish my country to win . Sir I have been replaying the highlights over and over again
