I was witness to tough men outpouring emotions after India triumphed over South Africa in Barbados. Here’s my first reaction in the aftermath of the grand finale!
I hope fans remember this when his form fades. If Tendulkar can have bad years If Kohli can have bad years. Then Bumrah is also supposed to have a bad phase in career. I hope fans back him then
Tears in my eyes. What a way to win the WC. Yesterday Team India truly played like a team everyone contributed something important. This was the "X factor" missing for all these years but yesterday they clicked in a high pressure final.
Bumrah was sent to us by God in that moment, Surya's catch was touch of gold, it was equivalent to The Hand of God moment (barring any cheating) in the cricket. Hats off Surya and yes Bumrah is a freak!!
It was hard to watch the Proteas. I still remember ABD crying after the Semi Final loss, this was more painful, they had it before Bumrah came. Springboks are double time continuous Rugby world Champions, they have to hold on to it for now and keep trying it in Cricket and win one in the future.
Bumrah no word for him. He really genius. We are lucky we are watching his golden era. Rohit what a great character of Indian cricket. My favourite player Rohit.
Virat Kohli is a gem, Harsha. An absolute champion. India are blessed to have players like him, Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Rohit Sharma. Not to look down upon the others- they are all fabulous limited overs specialists, the likes of Hardik Pandya. I love Hardik, he is irreplaceable in the limited-overs game.
Sparing a thought for the coach and one of Indian crickets greatest player - Mr. Rahul Dravid. For someone who has for years selflessly served the game and to not have been part of a world cup winning team, seeing him holding the cup after the presentation ceremony is the visual that will stay with me till the end. You deserved it Dravid sir! 🎉🎉
The teary faces of Hardik Rohit Kohli and everyone, automatically brings tears to our eyes 😭😫 That's UNITED NATIONAL CONNECT, which we cannot ever find in leagues 😊 Just trump AUS in KNOCKOUT now, and exact revenge of 2003FINAL and since 2015 knockouts, cannot bear those scathing losses ☹️🙄😊 JAI HIND 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳✌️☺️
Highlighting a point that has been missed...about Kohli's selection. India had lost far too often in the semi-final / final despite dominating the initial rounds. Batting collapses has been a major factor...this is where I think the team management has hedged their risks to retain Kohli in the t20 side in the event the top 3 or 4 hitters fail. Throughout the tournament Kohli looked uncomfortable playing the Rohit style ...bang bang in the first 6 overs. But in the final ...3 top batters fell for low scores...and this was a god send opportunity for Kohli to play his normal style of cricket...start slow, hold one end, allow other hitters to play around him and then crank up the strike rate in the last few overs thru 6s and 4s. We have seen King Kohli the masterful batsman play this way successfully many many times in the 50 overs cricket to bring victory for India. Also this time around the feeling would have been that India have a strong and varied attack to defend a decent total.
Harsha... thank you ''always'' for the fine commentary and heart touching expressions. Again it was Ravi Shastri who called the game yesterday. Probably you are meant to call it at 2027.. Stay blessed sir...
It has taken over a billion people to shape this team and over 11 years to re-attain the goal. If there are no emotions flowing here, you are not human. It is not just the team that cried tears of joy but a nation and its people around the world that participated in this moment. Every team member has something to say today, and the people of India understand. After all, this is a Champion team. Congratulations, Team India!
Harsha... No one has come close to your level of capturing moments & emotions... both during live commentary as well as during post match conversations... The big moments always had the live visuals and your voice to go by... thatz how i feel cricket.. But... just this once... i thought u missed a trick, in capturing the emotions behind Virat's T20I retirement announcement... The euphoria of the win, somehow made you miss the sombre reality of a great starting his adieu.... this moment of winning the cup was a culmination of sorts, but also a start to an end... the end of a glorious cricketing legacy... During that interview with Virat, I nearly expected a little more heart, a bit more gravitas.... an extended pause maybe, when he said he is done....... you missed the moment, sir !!
I wish you had spoken of Surya's catch, perhaps you just forgot between so many emotional moments this champion team has given us today. Hearing from you of that moment would be a symphony as I love your commentary. Also, till some time ago, this was a "team of champions", but today, it is a "champion team" as there was no individual brilliance, rather small contributions from each one of them that brings the world cup home this time.
in addition to all those gems of indian cricket, we should someday pay tribute to you harsha bhogle. we grew up on your words and your poetry for decades. you too are just as important treasure of indian cricket. Your words too are just as memorable.
Thanks Harsha for this channel, we know how busy you're, considering the never ending cricket season, but you deserve every kudos from us fans, to give us another opportunity of hearing, India's Voice of Cricket! Thank you so much
I was watching the match in star sports, there were few people calling the moments, describing the situation then I realized nobody captivates the emotions like you do..without your voice those winning moments are not the same..please don't retire any soon!
Spare a thought for Shami! You are as much a part of this win as anyone else!! Barring injury you would have been there wheeling away with that bolt upright seam- Right arm raised, head bowed and a shy smile after knocking over one more batsman.
Hey Harsha, this World cup Win is special in a very different way. This is a shift in mindset for Indian cricket. Till now India was a team of Campions but the change in culture means India is now a Champion team. What I mean is, instead of depending on individual players India has now started to play as a Team where the role is more important than the players name. To me this is more significant change
I think it was a proper team win spearheaded by Rohit with his brains and bat and Bumrah with the ball. Every single player contributed in one or the other way in one or the other match. My heart raced like a Ferrari and tears filled my eyes. While it didn't sink in like 2007 or 2011 coz I was far younger then, this will be a good memory in the future. Especially the way we clawed back in after losing our way in the 15th over. Cheers!
Great match.Well played to SA.They have come a long way in playing spinners.Contrary to popular opinion that it is all IPL SA themselves have good spinners like Tahir, Maharaj, Shamsi who himself is a left arm wrist spinner like Kuldeep. That has certainly helped them play spin better with nets practice
some people think that virat played slow but looking at all previous world cups whenever virat or rohit are not there we collapse. he had to make sure he doesn't lose his wicket. he did that brilliantly. if he got out playing big shots i am sure we would have crumbled under pressure like all previous world cups
The biggest challenge for Indian cricket administrators, coaches and players is to make sure India will not have to wait for another decade or more to win another ICC trophy. The people in charge must make sure work starts to defend the T20 title in 2026 n win the 2027 ODI title for white ball cricket. For red ball, the administrators must start planning to win the 2025 WTC final.
Hi Harsha, intriguing and touching analysis of the finals from perspective of both sides. Thanks for that. Did u get a feeling that the Ind team (especially Rohit Virat and Hardik)was more relieved of winning an ICC trophy than having the sheer joy winning the worldcup. It almost looked like a 1.5 billion ton brick was removed off their chest. Never have i seen such emotions on cricket field. Not even when Sachin won in 2011. Would be great if you can share ur opinion on this.
@bhogle_harsha Sensitive, gentle, nuanced, mildly cheeky- that's Harsha all the way. Not for nothing is Harsha so highly rated. People may not have heard him much of late, especially those who watched cricket post 2010's.... But he definitely has the vocabulary & skill to articulate our emotions.
Both team played like , now or never.... fight till the last ball 😠 The last five overs of this tournament SA will never forget nor the India. Hardik should have been bowling that over Axar bowled ...it changed the game towards SA and 140 cr hearts started pumping with fear and hopelessness. Bumrah ... the genius all prepared to do what every india is expecting from him... 3rd ball as soon as a right handed Jansen swings his bat ... all his fears come in to reality and that ball made great noise on the stump , Arshdeep... calm, focused and totally in game senses bowled an outstanding over under pressure he will replace Siraj as soon as shami is fit in future. Hardik.. I knew why rohit trusted him for the this t20 wc and he said it publicly That hardik can magics and he is a luxury to have in team. I knew hardik would defend 16 runs and he chose to do it one wide full toss and then the game changer SKY was running towards his greatest and one of history catch of his career and he pulled the trophy in for the last time in this roller coaster ride of a World Cup final . India showed the world what it means to be champion in those last 5 overs and world witnessed a high class drama which will promote cricket in lot more countries in future. USA will start outsourcing local Indian cricketers from india in future 😝
To me, the tears that all the players shed was a testament to just how much pressure they have been under. It was just a release of all that pent up emotion and stress. I hope we as fans can be a little kinder to our players going forward. Winning a World Cup is not easy, even for the richest team. I feel like the pressure overwhelmed them in November against a mentally tough team, and I think it really benefited them that they were playing far away from home without the glare of 1.3 lakh spectators and Indian media, along with all the nationalist jingo and PM presence.
Hi Harsha, love u man. One suggestion though; I know u r a very busy person but kindly post video everyday premiered for a specific time. Else your voice which generally has the power to heal a wound but can cause septic if not treated properly and whole heartedly.
Harsha Bhogle sir what about the legend Rahul Dravid. The strange thing is some great coaches always do well in the second season. Jose Mourinho always has had his second season as the best season same for Rahul Dravid when he was coach of the under 19 and now when he was the senior team coach.

Hey Harsha … pls pls we plead .. if possible just have a podcast with Rohit, Virat n Bumrah! No one gets more closer to the players emotions than you.
+1
Might come separately,never together.

Wrong harsha is dull ,Gk has done better interviews than Harsha
Bumrah should be preserved in cotton wool by BCCI.He is treasure of Indian cricket .🎉🎉🎉🎉
Nazar mat lagao rey usko ❤
National treasure , 8th wonder ❤❤❤
I hope fans remember this when his form fades.
If Tendulkar can have bad years
If Kohli can have bad years.
Then
Bumrah is also supposed to have a bad phase in career.
I hope fans back him then
Why cotton wool? Is there a thing like that?
And now that's for Kohli too since India would want him to play 2027 50 over wc
That Suya's catch was an incredible one! I m never gonna forget it till my last breath. JAI HIND❤
"Kohli goes down the ground, Kohli goes out of the ground." &
"That's the shot of an Emperor". ❤❤❤ Greatest comment on Virat Kohli 🎉
Tears in my eyes. What a way to win the WC. Yesterday Team India truly played like a team everyone contributed something important. This was the "X factor" missing for all these years but yesterday they clicked in a high pressure final.
The best moment with the best voice in cricket

Yes bumrah is a case study. Will be studied for many years or decades
The frick did u just say? "That moment"?
It was hard to watch the Proteas.

Springboks are double time continuous Rugby world Champions, they have to hold on to it for now and keep trying it in Cricket and win one in the future.

What a storyteller you are Harsha. Wonderful. Emotions running high. Unchecked. Pure. Raw.
Feel bad for South Africa they came so close and still theu couldn't end up on winning side the wait still continues for them.

True 🤣

In ur words cricket is more than just runs and wickets, its the emotion which connects everyone
Bumrah is a balanced personality! A Legend.🎉

Harsha's line of interviewing Virat was amazing.

What a chord to end the tournament on😊!
The match was gone.. I was sobbing.. And then it turned around and I started jumping
Jai Hind!!!!!!
Harsha, I liked the part where you said 'Bumrah's role is also in inspiring bowlers like Arshdeep'. That's an underrated factor.

I feel we are missing out on a great captain in Bumrah. We is very calm and composed like MS Dhoni. May be he is the best choice for India as captain.
Bowl was thrown to bumrah, and words were whispered. Make it Happen . Rest is history
He , plz have a podcast with winning team
Virat ❤

Hello Harsha what about sky catch did he touched rope ? Ur thoughts pls
Suprising The legend Sunilsir was absent in the broadcasting room 😅
i remember kohli erupting in uncontrollable joy and ecstasy when india won @ adelaide and mcg in 2018-19, and given the sheer significance of the moment and the monumental impact of the achievement, it was in proportion
i thought yesterday too, after winning and healing the scars of 2016 final, 16 semi final he would also do something similar in celebration mode, if not go beyond, but then, the usually rohit sharma took over
i call this country the land of cricketing insanity, where we, the indian fans, the runners and sponsors of this great and iconic game, think, expect and mostly believe that our team, players of our nation, can and should win anything
imagine the inhuman pressure they go through. its tough to imagine
only people who are part of this never ending, way too much money filled drill, know the sheer pressure they are under
given the scars rohit, kohli, bumrah, jadeja, pandya, and to a lesser extent pant( on the field) have been through, i feel happy for them - we have no idea about the sheer pressure they are under, be it ipl or internationals
finally, after more than a decade, they have got something they craved for, so so much
rohit sharma also must be credited. he went the england cum virendra sehwag route - destroy the opposition if you can't defeat them, on your own
this team should seriously prepare and aspire to win the wtc final vs australia in england next year now
go down in the history books as one of the greatest test teams, if not all format teams, be it from india, or beyond
12 gods, and their turbulent, and yet eye opening relationship, with a billion indians
Bumrah should be rested now for upcoming border gavaskar trophy
A formidable team forming....without Kohli Rohit Jadeja...thats a team to be feared😮
I have no interest in cricket and I only watch when India is in World Cup . I don’t even understand the game and only wish my country to win . Sir I have been replaying the highlights over and over again
No one mention the guy take the catch On the boundary.
Harsha mama please do podcast with Rohit, Kohli ....take Dk n Ashwin too in that..to get good conservation 🎉... Waiting 🎉🎉
