@@blackburn2671 I'm not saying YG is amazing btw but let me clarify what you just said. YG did not let Blackpink attend MMA 2019 because he boycotts MMA with pretty much all his artists. Furthermore Blackpink couldn't attend MMA 2019 beacuse they were giving a concert in the TOKYO DOME in japan the same exact day. It was a way of YG to give the middle finger to that MMA award show. That show is such garbage. It's rigged to the max and this is why YG just don't send his artists to that show. As for the hate Blackpink is receiving you don't have to worry. Blackpink has trainers. They have psychologist and nutritionist. It's not like Blackpink doesn't have professional to help them. BTW that tokyo dome concert was freaking amazing :)

Jennie said on the Zach Sang show interview that she was drafted as a rapper at her agency YG because at the time she was able to speak fluent English "pretty fast" and they had to cover pop songs as trainees and they often had rap parts...

Lisa is already talented to begin with.She attended Dance and Vocal lessons as well. Back in Thailand, She already made it to a cover of magazine because she won a talent contest. She's the only one who passed YG's audition in Thailand out of 4,000. But kudos to YG trainings for Lisa's rapping skills. For a beginner, she's good. Lisa only learned how to rap in YGE.
Rose is talented,too. Out of 400 who auditioned in Australia. She's the only one who made it. She used to be a cheerleader,too.
Jisoo she has a talent for acting. When it comes to singing and dancing skills other members are better. but she's trying her best to improve.

They're one in a million..that's true.. A lot of trainee left YG because of the delay debut and they go training for 12 hours then study. YG has a reputation that when you debut under them, you'll have harder training process than other idols.. that's why they are so good.

jennie was named triple threat and YG’s ace by her seniors, and co-trainees when she was just a trainee back then. Even their vocal coach mentioned how jennie was like a celebrity back then, she mentioned how good jennie was at rapping, singing, dancing, even in writing lyrics. She also co-wrote some few songs from blackpink such as Stay, and her Solo song was all her idea, she helped in choreographing it, writing the lyrics and evwn styling 20 more or so outfits the MV.
If you see other YG artists you would see they're all talented. And YG recognizes it early and and hones their craft for years until he feels they're ready to debut.

On why they're so good with their rap game, its rooted from their agency's philosophy. The agency founder was a well known hip hop artist and he put that flavour on each of his artists. If you look at it, there's only a handful of K-pop artists that can match the rap prowess of YG artists. That also true for their producers, songwriters and directors.
When it comes to the agency's big group, they will pull out an astronomical amount of money to pursue the perfect MV. They rarely use VFX and relying heavily on SFX (the girls are rarely seen in front of green screen).

Part of what makes BLACKPINK unique and special is because each member is unique and can be solo artist on their own but they also go really well together as a group. YG is known for having a more western vibe in kpop. Some of the talent will be from training but the girls were already talented to be chosen as a trainee. I know Lisa already had that swag vibe and duality during her dance crew childhood days in Thailand, Rosé was already an indy songbird with her guitar, Jennie has always had that fierce fashionista thing, and Jisoo was always a quirky visual with a raspy voice.
Lisa is the most versatile in the group, she can walk through all styles and change her visual identity in a surprising way. She goes from the cutest girl in the world to the sexiest badass... that's why she is *ACE* of the group, besides not being Korean and still occupying the positions of vocalist rapper and main dancer things that not even the Koreans themselves can't! ❤️ Asia's miracle global it girl

Definitely a combination of the girls talent and YG’s style. Check out Big Bang, also from YG. They were kings before having to serve the mandatory military duties. They just got released and will be playing Coachella. Watch Big Bang’s 2015 MAMA performance and you will see NOTHING BUT SWAG. Even had BTS jacked up

Credit to YG for seeing the potential and putting them together as a group, and for giving them the (intensive) training that helped them develop as artists. In my opinion, if they were under a different agency - they would certainly have a different sound and style. YG has that “edgy” thing - you can check other YG artists. I also really like that he decided not to assign a leader in the band (which is unconventional in kpop groups). Credit to Teddy Park - their music producer for creating bops after bops. But most importantly- CREDIT TO THE GIRLS for their innate talent and artistry, unparalleled passion and determination, and for sticking together and supporting each other and being there for each through through ups and downs (you know how many groups practically can’t stand each other) but they are literal angels who do care for each other. And they have that charisma and IT factor- which pulls in a lot of “locals” (non-fans) to their music. The sad part though is that yg still doesn’t give them a full album (despite their success!), they only have a handful of songs (imagine doing a world tour with only 13 songs!) Another thing - they are not given opportunity to write their own songs. Jennie and Jisoo hinted that they co-wrote one of their songs “Stay” but they are not in the credits... Anyway, we’re all waiting for their comeback!!!! Thanks for reacting to the girls - the english rap compilation video is better in case you want to check it out. I really enjoy your reactions. The girls already have talents & YG also help them to find another talent that they can & shaped their characters that're in line with YG's vibe. That's why they've been training for so long. And so all idols, they're trained & shaped as their agency's vibe.

The KPOP industry have a lot of talented artists. But the one thing that separates BLACKPINK from other groups is their IT FACTOR. They have this aura that cannot be copy, and it comes out naturally from them.
I love BlackPink. My all-time favorite. There is one obvious thing that they are missing. A power vocal. Girls Generation has Taeyeon. Sistars and Mamamoo also have powerful vocals. BUT BlackPink does everything else so great that it really isn’t needed. I’m more than happy to have Rose’ as the main vocal. All a matter of taste.
