    Features excellent customization and an ergonomic split design. I saw a double-digit increase in typing speed after using it, and enjoy how it feels. After 6 months of use, it still works extremely well.

    1:28 Assembly
    3:55 Customization via Agent software
    4:41 Before and after typing comparison

    6:32 Results after 6 months of use
    8:00 Outro
    I was sent this unit to potentially review, but they gave no conditions on how I presented it, good or bad. That being said, I really like it.

    Why not glue those two keyboards to your shorts? More ergonomic to keep your arms hanging down.

    Ergo or not, I am a huge fan of the tenkeyless keyboards. I realized almost immediately after switching that the real estate between the enter key and your mouse is some of the most valuable real estate on your desk.
    I am not an accountant. I don't enter all that many numbers. And if I were an accountant, I would hope that I wouldn't be entering numbers by hand very often anyway! :)

    I've had my UHK for about a year now. I really dont miss the arrow keys - I find it great to have it under my right hand with mod. If anything I feel lost on a regular keyboard! Also numpad I put under Fn layer which is ok. Really happy with mine. I have lots of little tweaks to it which make it feel like a pair of old shoes.

      Would agree for the most part. Every once in a while I get mixed up with the mod/arrow keys, but overall I really like it.

    that is version 2 that has backlight . version 1 , UHK v1 has no backlight and has no hotswappable switches. just wanted to say that . the modules(mouse/scrolllball) and palmrest attach to both version 1 and 2.

      I'm sorry to say that they probably exist in some format, but they are not easily accessible. The videos should still be up. Basically it uses ~2x2 lumber as the upright, with a bass string and pickup, and a handle made with the same ~2x2 lumber with a rotation axis made out of some sort of bolt IIRC.

    Will do. FYI, I'm old school Unix/Linux guy, 35+ years. Control, caps lock, and escape key location is critical to efficiency. It's doubtful that your keyboard will work for me.

    • @JeremyCook
      @JeremyCook  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Hmm, well understandable. In its defense, you can reconfigure the keys just about any way you choose. I didn't really highlight that in the video as well as I could have.

    • @CraigHollabaugh
      @CraigHollabaugh Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@JeremyCook is that reconfiguration done in the keyboard or the software driver?

    • @JeremyCook
      @JeremyCook  Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@CraigHollabaugh Done via the Agent software, stored on the keyboard itself is my understanding. In other words, I THINK it would work the same way if I unplugged it and used it on another device without the computer software. You may want to check to be sure though.

    UHK can't complain about a 6 months of use review. Very nice looking kit, but out of my league price wise.

    • @JeremyCook
      @JeremyCook  Před 9 měsíci

      It is very nice indeed, and correspondingly expensive, so I understand your sentiment.
      I had meant to do the review quite a bit earlier, but it got pushed back because... life, the universe, and everything.
      In the end though, I'm glad to get a little longer perspective to put out there, which is perhaps more useful anyway!

    • @JeremyCook
      @JeremyCook  Před 9 měsíci

      If it actually speeds my typing up like the (admittedly not well scientifically designed) testing would show (or even a reasonable fraction), then it would absolutely be worth it for me.
      That being said, it's a tough price to swallow. Would I want to buy it? Yes. Should I buy it, or something of similar quality? Probably. Would I buy one? I really don't know!

    • @fpul
      @fpul Před 9 měsíci +1

      Lol at the "I really don't know".

    Your typing is fast! No arrow keys? Deal breaker. Num pad? Not so much; can always get one on the side if numerical data-entry is your bag, baby.
    A "paste with no formatting" key would sure beat having 'CapsLock.' THING SHOULD BE ILLEGAL

    • @JeremyCook
      @JeremyCook  Před 9 měsíci

      Thanks! I do a lot of typing, honestly I was kind of impressed with myself. I thought the side numkey was my bag, but found out that having that space was more bag-worthy than extra numbers.
      Haha, there are a lot of CAPSLOCK haters out there. I'd call it a more of a necessary evil, and something I'd be much more OK with if there was a more obvious indicator light.

      You can configure the bottom right keys to be the number keys. That is what I did on mine. In addition to the vim-like hjkl arrow keys I use as well. The extra arrow keys I use when browsing (hands are not in the home-row position then).
