In modern handball small number of coaches want to play deep 321 defence. Team has to have a lot of fast players, and thay have to be extremely coordinated .It is closer to be called 3-3 defence system, or even like in basketball one man on other defense.
Maybe it looks like there is no much sense for this kind of defensive solution, but some teams are forced to play these way. In my example is case with Japanese handball team. I used parts of their game against Russia on wc 2017. It was only way for them to play against russia's tall back players to push them away as possible and to try to interecept the ball.
How to play in this case? Wings and pivot must be involved. Without their movement backs are isolated and away of proper situation for shots.
I tried to show you a few examples how to organize attack against this kind of handball defense. Of course there is a lot other options but my goal here is to built up your way of thinking if your team needs to play against 3-2-1.
