At a point the tourist, is ignorant that the area is the property of the Ministry of Defence [MOD] and the right of entry can be withdrawn at any time especially when they are changing the guard. The MOD police are employed to protect the MOD property UK wide. The Police have Home Office Powers and are always armed. I believe their Police Powers only extend for about one mile from MOD property, other wise it’s a local Police matter. In 2023 some people feel that they are entitled to do as they wish, without any countability what so ever.

I feel so badly for the poor horses. It is an unnatural environment for them and they have no choice.
The horses are well looked after and they are on duty for only one hour. They are trained and well used to being on guard duty.

Too long to reply here - but look up Horse Guards and you will get the history from 1600s on.
The King’s Life Guard is guarding the entrance to Horse Guards Parade on Whitehall. It has a long history from the reign of Henry VIII to the present and the greater area is home to the British Royal, Military and the Political establishment. There are a number of sites online that have comprehensive information on Horse Guards Parade and the King’s Life Guards. Hope this helps.

It must be exhausting and boring to the horses especially when they have to deal with strangers while on duty.

They have hardware in their mouth that's none to comfortable, and they fight its discomfort by tossing head, and trying to dislodge the bit with their tongue. If they were busy doing something like walking trotting marching they wouldnt be doing it as much.

The title of this video is overblown. The woman listened, didn't argue and was fairly respectful and compliant after the officer explained what was going on. There are other videos in this series with seriously disrespectful tourists.
Actually she seemed to ignore his pointing to go back, appeared not to listen to him and then tried to walk around him where he had to physically stop her. Maybe she wasn't trying to be disrespectful, perhaps she is just dense.

Of all the Horse guard channels on CZcams, yours is the only one that consistently dramatizes mundane occurrences in order attract viewers. Unnecessary, and annoying. There was no drama here. the officer explained why she couldn't walk through at that time, she listened, understood and waited.

@@franc9111 if you look behind the gate you will see her making her way through from the Parade ground, following the correct route behind the white lines, arriving at the front gate just as PC Jobsworth decides she should not complete the final couple of metres to be on her way. Not necessary at all.

Animals have been used in the military fir centuries. They are trained, well cared for and given short duties on the gate. They are members of a team and respected, except by some tourists who think it’s Disney.
@@danoyse8233 These horses are bred for this particular job. They are able to carry the weight. They are well cared for and the only problem they have is with the tourists mauling their faces. Some show their objections by moving away or biting! Remember::Ears back + curled lips + teeth bared = I am going to bite you.

Have you ever tried to " force " a 17 hand Irish draught horse to do something he doesn't want to do ? I'll wait ! If you are so concerned about animal abuse go and look for those poor horses left neglected in fields , little food , water , shelter , no veterinary care when they are sick left to die in pain . These Household Cavalry horses are the lucky ones they receive the very best of care . Educate yourself before commenting on something you know nothing about .
