    After my divorce (26 years ago), I made a pact with myself to date a woman for 3 years before considering marriage. Not one woman I dated made the cut. Gentlemen, the longer you wait, the more difficult it is for her to hide her true self and true intentions.

    Good advice here. I don't know why more expats do not search out business or professional ladies, rather than Province girls.
    There are lots of doctors, dentists, lawyers, accountants, bankers and business ladies available, looking for established, confident men.
    In my case I connected with a very intelligent dentist and TV celebrity who was self-sufficient and proud of the fact she did not need to ask me for money.
    She is twenty years younger than I am and we have had 10 great years together. She has many friends and colleagues looking for good quality, mature and confident partners.
    In fact, we have been thinking of hosting Bachelor Conventions were parties could meet, subject to required police reports and financial statements in advance, to verify their character.

    I have lived on a boat quite a long time and I always tell anybody moving onto a boat not buy anything for six months. Otherwise the place is full of rubbish that you don't need. I regard all services as a screw over even in the UK I am living 50 50 in the Philippines and Portugal. If I pay money I want a thing so if the object I buy is worth it then fine. Regarding people just observe over time who is looking after you who has your back. I have a nephew who would take a bullet for me these are the people to cultivate. I also learned Tagalog which totally unsettles them.

    If the girl refuses to leave. Especially a place that there is a security guard. Let him drag the girl out. And tell the guard not to let that specific person in. This happened to one of the expat vloggers. Broke up with the girl in the Phil and the girl refuses to leave. This was in a condo unit so security was there.

    • @Lifebeyondthesea

    well put, the first, -- trust is a difficult issue-- I just compare what they say with what they do. -- if there is a discrepancy then forget it. its common to live out of someone else's pocket within the families, greater families out there, -- so what does a person do if they get money-- spend quickly before the others ask for it, so they can say -- NO MONEY. As a foreigner -- just say no and see what happens-- does the character change? Do they loose interest?
    And here is another one: Nothing is for free!! and I mean it-- say I see a piece of steel lying beside the road, I could have use for which is not in any use -- there is a price on it, NO MATTER. They are not mean spirited, -- but if there is a chance, -- they are quick to take it. In their own way, they are pretty selfish, however they are afraid to be found out to be stingy and selfish. So they have these family feasts, tons of meat, and and and-- that's only to impress, basically they cannot realistically afford it--
    And then the fiestas come, -- another way to show off. And the best of all are the videoke machines -- paired with drink, they all feel they can even sing better -- soo, -- just smile at those things. bear in mind: for many the difference between a lie and the truth does not exist.

    Let a g/f, maid into your place some will throw the heavy anchor down quick & not ever leave. Often the cousin /family member may just happen to come into town in need of a place to stay for the night/or 2. You may get groomed if u leave the door wide open/don't ask questions/ lay down any rules . With $ if you give (lend) once w/good hearted intentions it's often the green light & it will happen again sooner than u think. Overall the people r great but 3 words I found do not exist here, "free, borrow & refund" ....

    Glad I watched this video I got a funny feeling that people here in America who are wealthy and well-off experience the same thing. The only difference with us is we aren't experienced as they are. I'm retired and I have no choice but to go over there because a small house in the outskirts of Cebu is better than a rat hole here in America. The fact of the matter is it's always going to be something. I did construction and dug ditches drove trucks and wash dishes and my social security check is precious to me. And even if someone did ask me for the money. I would say hey can you cut my yard and I'll pay you if you need the money that bad. If they're physically able to do something for me and they need help they can get that money the same way I got it. But after this video it sure isn't going to be Maids work.

But not to bring her to your Place in Six months or so is New too hear even on anyone who has a Philippines Vlog. Reekay if you respond to Comments, what's the best answer to give her if she asks why can't I come to your Place?

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  Před 3 lety +1

      welcome to the channel! :) as to your question, this is when you first meet a filipina and you don't know her. nor are you necessarily thinking about a relationship with her.
      but if you are still seeing her and interested in her after a month or so, only then.. "if" she seems okay would you consider bringing her to your place.
      but if you simply do not trust her or are not interested in her for an actual relationship, you can simply tell her the truth and say, "i'm a very private person and i rarely bring people to my condo." at that point she can take it or leave it. if she leaves, that's totally okay since youve already decided she isn't girlfriend-material anyway.

    Why do expat businesses not survive? What is the primary problem in your opinion?

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  Před rokem

      many reasons, but the key reason being the amount of cheaper competition. everybody and their brother is watching to see if you build a successful business. and they will copy it and operate literally right next door... but at substandard service and price.
      in the PH, only a small demographic has the luxury of paying for quality. the vast majority buy based on price, since they are low on funds.
      another problem is the high price of quality items needed to run your business. real cheese. real tools that don't break right away. items that have to be imported.
      your business will either be targeting expats and higher-earning filipinos.. and you will need to be in a high traffic area to reach them, or... your market is the masses of filipinos on low income, where you will likely be under-bid and unable to operate at a profit.
