  • Filmed on 07/06/2022. Time for our second day of our North Wales holiday which brings us nicely along the North Wales Coastal Route through to the busy junction station of Llandudno Junction (Season 9 Episode 20)
    As we look both north seeing the Great Orme of Llandudno to looking south of the Conwy Valley Line. Now, there has been a few issues for Transport For Wales on this day due to a heavily delayed MK4 set, the train on its return journey runs non stop between Llandudno Junction through to Chester which is a very rare working.
    The newest of the class 197's is out and about on driver training/route learning. The 197's are also destined for the Cambrian Coast Line which apparently could be replacing their class 158's. Similar to their sister classes 195's and 196's units which are built on similar principles apart from their looks. They do have the same engines and also all fitted with the ZF Ecolife gearboxes.
    Avanti West Coast has bought back services to the North Wales Coastal with more services running between London Euston to Holyhead/Bangor diagrams which is used by their refurbished Super Voyagers.

      Thank you Jack, delighted to hear you have enjoyed it. It's a busy junction station that is for sure. And the gateway for Conwy Valley, Snowdonia and beyond to Holyhead.

      Hello Ben. Sadly, I didn't have the time for this holiday but next year, I am planning to stay hopefully for 7 days. To say the least, soo much to do in such short space of time. The Ffestiniog Railway connects for it. In its hay day, there used to be a Ffestiniog Quarry Railway bringing slate down from the summit.
      Thanks for the advice and will plan it in the future Ben :-)

    Is there a date when all class 175s will go

    • @RickyNowis
      @RickyNowis  Před 2 lety

      To be honest with you Ben, I am not aware that the 175's are going considering that they have all been refurbished? Well, if this is true then it will be odd if they are going.
      But, anything can happen so lets say for now: Let us wait and see what happens.
