  • The just-concluded local body polls have further exposed the true colours of the UK media including the BBC and Sky News. Both media outlets are under scrutiny for their alleged biases against George Galloway’s Workers Party.
Rifat Jawaid, a former BBC editor, says he can’t see any justification in such brazen media biases.

I find Starmer underwhelming and insincere. He's got 'baggage' too. His wife is Israeli with family in the Occupied Territory. Frequently seen on the Finchley/Golders Green circuit Starmer is far more concerned about a very bellicose minority of only 250,000 ( probably dual-nationality) who's agenda surmounts everyone else's. Always the victims yet no empathy with other people's suffering .

      Govt by People's Referenda:
Peaceful Occupation of our Capitals until it's installed, or run Mascot Candidates
Single Issue Referendums with thresholds and a social contract means Communities can vote their own laws.
A Public Authority can audit police and prosecute bad cops in our own courts.
Nationalise resources and give Indigenous peoples the right of Sovereignty over them as Guardians.
This can be achieved through a General Strike or Velvet Revolution, much like the Occupy movement, peacefully occupying State Buildings until a People's Mandate can be implemented.
With the appropriate checks and balances, you could have a national digital forum where qualified professionals can debate the issues in a public setting without all the disinformation and bad faith antics, hatespeech etc.
Any vote would need to pass the 70% threshold, with a veto or _rewrite_ vote needing 30%.
The issues would be debated, the public educated, and then a vote taken. Votes that fail will have to wait a year before trying again. Any new proposal (Citizen Initiated Referendum) would have to reach a threshold of support before it made it onto the register. This would be subject to a Social Contract (New Constitution) that forbids human rights abuses and discrimination.
That can be written in the same manner based on the core principles we all share. Councils and Boards could operate in the same fashion at Scale.
It works in a way that obligates people to better educate themselves ( that is to use logic and evidence in their reasoning ) for a better understanding of the issues, and then take collective responsibility for the outcomes. In defence of the BBC Eamonn Holmes ☘️ to his credit treated George Galloway one of the very few honest decent MPs among the 650 in the House of Cads with the utmost RESPECT he deserves. GMB on the other hand Richard MADley and Susanna Reid showed nothing other than disrespect contempt for George.

I used to follow George Galloway, but I just watched an interview to Novara Media, where he advocates the drastic reduction in the number of democratic representatives, the fat increase of their wages and the exponential growth of their staff. This means more and more people will have no representation in democratic institutions and that unelected people will be doing the work that should be done by those who were indeed elected. Why not elect more (and) fully dedicated people, give them no staff, except for the regular logistics needs, and redesign those institutions to depend less on talking to the benefit of media cameras + microphones and more on projects, proposals, and discussion panels? They always say they became politicians out of love for their country but then end up demanding better wages for themselves (and worse for those who vote them in), and pushing for the reduction of representatives, no matter how much it has been reduced in time, until we get to a stage where 1 representative is legislating in the name of one or two million citizens, with lots of different ideals and expectations. Where's the social equity (or balance) in that? More and more I see democracy degrading at the hands of selfish politicians who think they're better than everyone else. These are the guys that talk about freedom of expression (and of the press) while they silence many voters by reducing the democratic representation and increasing a sort of deep state, who are never made accountable for what they do. My hopes in politicians have been eroding year after year, much thanks to illusionists like George Galloway, who promise to change things for the people but always change them only for themselves and, of course, never for the worse.

I just said this yesterday! I said to fam member they help each other these tories and new labour. It is like unspoken rule that if there is a green and labour contending for a sit the tory voter will vote labour to keep the status quo. I really think they do vote for each other by listening to what the media tells them. They scared them npt to vote corbyn. They say polls are a manipulativr tools to make people vote in one way or the other in two party systems like uk and US
