They are there to protect the place that regulates the water so that people don't do something nefarious. They also help protect crews when needed onsite while working because they have to work in some really bad areas and in the past crews have encountered some outlandish crazy people in the process and onsite there has also been shootings, stabbings, and all kinds of other crazy threats against employees just trying to do their job. There have even been people that showed up to the building trying to get in to do harm to the people in charge. I myself found it odd that the water company for Montgomery & Prince Georges County needed their own police department, but when I found out all the things they do, I understood. They are not normal police and don't deal with normal issues your county or state police deal with.

The police here are not regular county police and have nothing to do with normal citizen issues as you seem to think. They are are WSSC Police.

29:57 4th amendment protects people from unreasonable searches and seizures by the government, why would they need your drivers license if you are in a publicly accessible area? also, this guy behind the desk admitted he is making up law as he goes, he thinks the law is up to his discretion

Telling someone there can’t do something is different than if there was signs you could be lying I don’t know you see how it works both ways like how you think I’m lying because you think that’s not my name well now you know how I feel 😅

Arrest for what? Walking through a publicly accessible building?! Ridiculous! I hate when they try to exert authority they don’t have! And if Maryland has laws that support that kind of foolishness, then shame on them too.

I need to figure out this comar thing..
Md. Code Regs. 04.05.01.02 - Property Access
During and after business hours or during declared emergency situations, an individual working, visiting, conducting business, or otherwise lawfully in, on, or about State property will be required to display identification documents upon request
Violate it and they wanna arrest you. I just might have to take the right because this is ridiculous.

Note well that Maryland public schools and particularly Baltimore City public schools graduate students far below standards,,,,, see WBFF reports of students unable to pass basic math and reading. Students with 0.26 averages graduating at the top of their class!!!! This is the labor pool that these public employees come from!
