Best Mirror/Backup light install I have seen so far! it truly took me an hour and 10 minutes to install and activate the LED Back up lights (including leveling the mirrors, organizing/hiding the wiring back in December. Great job!
I just installed these on my 2004 HD duramax. They look good and work as advertised.
Just installed my 2015+ tow mirrors today this vid was really helpful. That little piece of plastic idea for the rotating point was a great idea! Thanks
glad I could help man
Super straight forward and clearly explained. Gonna do this today, thank you!!
Thanks for the tips on grinding down the edges! I didnt think of that when I first put mirrors on my truck, and that plastic piece kept popping off because of how I had adjusted the angle. Trip to the car wash, and no more plastic piece... Getting a new set soon, and grinding down the edges like you did should fix my issue! Thanks again!
Love the videos keep up the great work!
I have an 07 Silverado 2500HD classic with a Duramax. I think you and truck master are two to watch for things to do on mine.
truck master is the man!
The mirrors suit the truck literally perfect
Anthony Valliere they turned out amazing man
I just ordered a set of these mirrors for my 1990 Chevy K3500 Extended Cab 1-Ton 4x4 Dually that I am getting ready to spray the entire truck in 3 colors of Raptor bed liner. This truck never had power mirrors or anything, so I first have to figure out how to get rubber wire looms in the doors before I can get these mirrors wired up. It will be a huge task to get these mirrors all wired up, but it will definitely make this 1990 Dually stand out when it is done.
What did the piece of plastic look like, size/dimensions, that you put behind the mirror swivel post?
This is the best wiring video Ive seen yet. Thanks for explaining the hard wiring into the truck.
mike dole absolutely man!!
THAT'S IT! I'M GETTING NEW TOW MIRRORS NEXT WEEK
JW Montoya finally !
I got mine but where to i get the spacer to level my mirror
Great job on the video I'm posting one similar to this one soon. Keep up the great content
Truck Master thank you man!! Trying to get on your level 👊🏼
BADDASS TRUCK MAN KEEP IT UP 🙏🏽
LEGENDARY RAZO thank you man!!
Let’s go buddy looks cherry 🍒👍🏻👍🏻
+KoensBrothers thanks man
What size tires and lift were on your truck before you lifted it really high? Like when you had XD's on it..
Great How To Video.... Thanks.
Great video!! So the earlier ('99-'02) trucks OEM mirrors are different from the '03 & up? & thats why they need to be leveled?
where did you get the mirrors??
I just followed your video to connect my mirrors to my truck, and its not working i checked all wires and the fuse are all good, anything you think i might of did wrong thats causing me this problem?
Thank you
Do you always have to route that wire to the fuse box?
If you wanted the lights up as a clearance light how would you do it
When you say a plastic piece for the mirror to rest on so it would be more sturdy, what do you mean by that?
Will they fit on an 04 GMC Sierra 2500HD
Does anyone have an issue that the glass changes position every time truck is started? If so, how did you fix it?
I already tried setting the memory feature in my 03 suburban, but no luck
Bad ass looking truck man. Going to try the same thing on my truck .
Jesus Acosta thank you! If you have any questions, follow my IG
Are installing the reverse lights necessary? Would the mirrors other functions still work the same? I've got to much wiring to add another thing...
Just put mine on. About how much should I expect to have them color match?
Badd ass truck looks awesome 👌
Great video ..Bro...!!!
I bought the 07 hd duty mirrors and replaced the stock ones but the new ones wires are cut and no wiring harness can I splice the old stock wiring harness to the cut wires on my new mirrors
Just ordered mine
Those nbs 2018 mirrors looks bad ass on that 2006 obs.
Which hole did u go through in the firewall. Looks like u went somewere in the middle section?
What did you use for the piece of plastic you stuck in there the keep firm???????
Are the orange aide markers plug and play or do you have to wire those too? Didn't see them come on in your video
Can you show more how you got the wire through the firewall to the fuse block?
Where can I get paint matched mirrors? Can only find chrome or textured
My tow mirrors won't fold in. Also passenger side is angled in more than driver side but they dont seem to wanna move. Any idea?
Are the turn signals plug and play also?
Great video man, I have a 2002 Duramax in my channel myself and I have big plans for it. Tow Morrors
Is definitely something I want to do in the very near future ! I hear you’re in FL, we should do a collaboration of some sort sometime !
Very nice. I got lb7 same color. I should do this
Where do you connect the reverse light wire?
Rewatch 6:00-6:50. Thought i was having deja vu lol
Eric Doolin I just wanted to be thorough
I thought I was watching a tutorial on how to change your mirrors not a music
Anychance you could tell me what the height is between the the arms on the mirror
What year are they off of? 8 have an 01 and I bought 11 model ones and they will not fit
I did what you did with the back up trailer fuse and mine still won’t turn on
But when you put the spacers behind the mounting screws to level the mirror it changes the way the clamping and the detent works and the mirrors do not lock in well and the wind at highway speeds makes them move.
What size of tires u got on that badass truck
Hey man where did you buy the mirrors from?
What wheels do you have on the truck?
What was that on your frame like a cover?
Nice friggin truck dude
Tyler Ball thank you man
I have these on my dually and for some reason the passenger side mirror is at a different angle than the driver side. I’m talking about how you can fold the mirror against the truck and forward. It had like 3 or 4 notches u can put it at and they are different, the passenger side does not land in the right spot. I’m gonna take the cover of the passenger and see if something can be adjusted on that. IDK
How are the mirrors holding up now with that plastic wedged in there? Kinda hack way of doing it.
so im dumb. I drive a 2018 z71 LT. my mirrors now dont have the LED signals on them. Do these work with my shit? Thaks
Does it have to be grounded ?
Now I have the power mirrors so other than those little spot lights that's only extra wiring I have to do correct? These are manual pull out correct? Only accordion looking ones are power in and out correct?
correct
Where’d you get the spacers
What color way is that on the truck
Hey man was wondering if you could help me out with this I'm wanting to put the 14-17 tow mirrors on my 02 Chevy Duramax was wondering if the plugs were the same or are they different
Ruben- I Have an 03 and I purchased the "2015 Style" for it, when I Purchased them I made sure they were for my year and everything was plug and play. You shouldn't have any issues UNLESS you are buying mirrors with Options your truck did not come with. If thats the case you will have to wire them up yourself.
The problem I have with leveling mirror is, your taking tension off spring that hold the mirror in place. Going down the road the wind shakes it.
I was wondering if there was a way to level them up to make em look factory installed. I see so many around my hometown that don't look good because they are angled upwards. Thanks for the info. Now I'm thinking of buying some for my 2004. Only thing I pull on occasion is my brothers pontoon boat, but when I do I sure could use them.
They are great to have man! Check out boost auto parts
Yeah there's a cap on the outside under the 2 arms that pops. Off and you can shim. To level
What are the dimensions of the spacers
Awesome video @D_BERTRAND850. Our mirrors look great on your truck!
For anyone looking for mirrors, or mirror parts check us out on the web at boostautoparts.com !
How functional are the clearance lights? I’ve never had them but they look like they might help with backing up a trailer at night. Do they actually help anything or are they just for looks?
The stock or aftermarket reverse light is not that bright. But Boostautoparts sells a easy replacement high power light.
What color is your truck painted? That color looks sick!!!
Sharp truck! Nobody mentions whether these mirrors are full powered? Do the remote adjusters work Up/Down & In/Out? Do they have the motors to extend and retract?
no motor to extend them out, but they do have the motor to move the glass
Did you buy the mirror caps color matched or did you have a shop get them painted. I’m wanting to do the same thing & how much was it ?
Reese 256 bought the mirrors from boost auto parts with paintable caps and had it painted locally
D_BERTRAND850 yea those are the same mirrors I have but I just bough the black caps for a temporary set up
Just post new mirrors on and they are angled out to far I cant see the back of the truck. Is there any way to adjust them to fold in a little?
I haven't seen one person answer this on any videos yet
I got a ‘13 silverado and got the exact same mirrors, does the small connector that comes installed with the mirrored need to be wired or is it optional? Trying to do it myself but saw your video and just had to ask
it don't have to but its just nice having those reverse lights
where can i buy that color
Where did you get those 1/4 in long nylon spacers ?
Home Depot
Great tutorial for doing the same install on my truck. Can you clarify what kind of plastic piece you used to help make the mirrors rigid? Thanks a million
I just used random pieces of thin plastic. Just to fill the gap
@@BERTRAND85O actual chunks of plastic or like a plastic bag type thing? Ahah I love the creativity
Really good explaining. Did the blinkers work when you just plugged them in?
Yup
Bertrand850 great DIY tow mirror install. Getting some of these for my truck.
Question for you, where you get those headlights and what brand?
Thank you man! They are custom @retrodiodes headlights
@@BERTRAND85O figured they're a custom set. Haven't seen them on any sites. Going to check that tag you add see how much they run. Keep up the great posts man.
Are those plug spots still there if you don’t have power mirrors
you'd have to wire it yourself
I’ll take your old mirrors lol I have the dumb power non tow mirrors :( I’ll buy em
Great vid dude. I'm installing mine and wasn't 100% on how to wire the docking lights....im not too keen on the electrical stuff!
Do the front LED’s work? When do they come on? Nice Video.
yup
Hi Bertrand850, Thanks for the video! I wired my lights exactly the same way, however, they only turn on when I put my truck in reverse. Any idea what is going on? I want them to turn on when I unlock the truck with my remote.
VeeVaa1966 will need to wore it differently man
I have a 2006 Chevy Silverado. Wouldn't the wire set up be the ssame?
I think the guy in the video showed how to wire it up so they come on in reverse. To make them work how you want they would need to be wired into the outside courtesy lamp circuit the original mirrors puddle lamps work on.
Honestly I’d keep the caps chrome and paint the black part of the mirror. But that depends on the build and style. Nice video!
So everything is plug and play except the reverse lights?
yup
Any weird vibrations or the mirrors folding in on themselves? Thanks for the video even though it's old.
No sir!
@@BERTRAND85O alright thanks a lot. About to do this on my Tahoe. Duramax swap with a 6 inch lift, I couldn't see shit with my dinky stock mirrors, but the uneven angle is starting to trigger the shit out of me.
I never knew about the leveling thing, do you have to do it?
don't have to
Where do you take the mirrors to get them painted ?
My buddy did it man. I bought the paint and brought it to him
Where did u get the color matching mirrors at
Boost auto parts have paintable mirrors
Would non towmirors from a 14-19 fit on an 03-06
Only connecting the passenger side to the fuse box allows both sides for the reverse lights to work?
Stephen Kramer no he used butt connectors to connect both to a single wire and that way he ran 1 wire to the fuse box you can see @ 8:30
How you get them to fit tho mine don’t fit at all
I’ve got 07 tow mirrors
My 07 only came with one plug they don’t fit on my 800
Text streetspeed to level his mirrors
Anyone know what grille he has?
Royalty core
BERTRAND850 lol I saw it in your other video, subbed ! Thank you
thanks bro
Nice Duramax I have a Silverado that is a year older than yours but its 2wd 😢
William Carnes nothing wrong with a 2wd
Nothing wrong at all mines 4wd and ive never used it
Jovane Montes but you’re gonna be glad it’s 4x4 that ONE TIME you get stuck
Video starts at 1:35
Glad I watched this right before installing mine. It’s a joke how they bolt on tilting up so far.. I have to say, Dodge tow mirrors are better then Gm’s.. I bought a set off eBay back in the day for the ol 2nd Gen and they bolted right on no problem and sat perfectly level and probably even look better then the Gm ones and perform better. But hey, you live and you learn right? I would have to say dodge is the winner for best tow mirrors on this planet 🌎
you should invest in a tripod stand so we can watch you do what you’re doing instead of explaining, and then cutting to the finished product.
Dark Ninla good call
You can just hire me. I’ll go to FL and hold the camera
