Had the 1990 model. Everything was waterproof (inc. headlights and alternator), and I've never owned a "Western" vehicle that a) came with such a comprehensive toolkit, and b) a jack that was sturdy enough to support the vehicle fully loaded, and simultaneously easy to use. Not that many jacks come fitted with grease nipples, but this one did, so it (like the car) was made to last.

Have a 2007 one, was used by a company as a company car beforehand, survived all the abuse and crashes - works perfectly fine. Parts are plentiful and affordable. Make sure to buy actual Lada parts, they are only slightly more expensive than the off-brand ones, but the differenc ein quality is astronomical.
