I've always encouraged all Americans to watch the Boondocks, especially white and black people. It somehow manages to take everything that encompasses Black and White people in America and make it into the funniest satire ever. The Good, The Bad, and especially the true stuff.
I can totally see that Czar! We've gotten almost 100% Positive feedback from the community and love the open dialog it creates, not to mention ALL the info from the shows OG viewers, like yourself. You guys have shared so much info about the show with us, that we definitely would have missed or possibly overlooked. We are grateful for our viewers that take time out of their day, to laugh with us. Much love. -M@
The thing to remember is that while it satirizes black culture , the creator is trying to show the negatives aspects of it in the respect of how the negative aspects of black culture have formed because of white oppression. For example uncle ruckus isn’t just supposed to be funny because he says the N word in a derogatory way so that it’s a funny outlet to while people that REALLY want to say that word. He’s symbolically representing how white oppression can lead certain black Americans to hate themselves and where they come from. This is why the creator left the show because he knew people weren’t understanding the subtext
Then maybe we can all lighten the hell up...like the 80s and 90s.

Fun fact: They originally only planned to have her voice Riley, but they liked her work so much they asked her to try voicing both brothers. Of course she did it so seamlessly that they asked her to voice Huey too.

The boondocks was so far ahead of its time, Aaron Mcgruder is high key a comedic genius. Definitely one of the best animated shows of all time, and criminally under rated. Please watch the fund raiser episode you won't be disappointed 😅
Personally, throughout my teenage years and 20's, white people always talk to among themselves in front of me saying "he's speaks so well, he's so articulate". When they put that part in there I was hooked cuz I totally got it. You guys are really awesome for doing a reaction to this show, looking forward to all of these!!!

Bruh I’m half black and the first in family to go to college , I had to hear “you speak so well” or “you’re so well spoken” so many fucking times it drives me up the fucking wall lol
When you meet 500 black people in a row who who don't speak well and meet one who does, it's worth bringing up. It's not racism if its just pattern recognition
It makes more sense to attribute that to your educational opportunities and household wealth than race

One of the best aspects of this episode (and a little bit throughout the show) is that it consistently talks about how hard it was for granddad to move into a neighborhood that other people have lived in their entire lives. And the toast at the end where Wunsler says “I’m glad you made it”, really sets the tone for the rest of the show.

Uncle Ruckus is one of my favorite characters and a favorite amongst my fellow african americans.
As to why Mr.Wuncler didnt stop Uncle Ruckus: This show aired in 2005, before the "woke" movement
