I remember buying the "legitimate" Tommy Boy 12" and being crestfallen when it wasn't this (at the time) "illegal" version. Still amazing, and to the best of my knowledge it was all done via tape splicing, without digital samplers. (If I'm wrong please correct me...thanks!)
I’m trying to work out which cut ‘n’ paste track sampled the music theory book tape ‘read rhythm right’ by Claire Lester. I think it was one of the Lessons tracks, but it might be ColdCut.
pop locking, animation (ticking), breaking . 1984 ..bak then it was Westcoast electro funk and ice t/ grandmaster flash/ and run dmc. 1981-1983.. great stuff.
