I couldn't pick up anything until I watched the paper method video, that solved my issue. In summary, you sit the stamper on paper for a few minute before you try to pick up, you will see it leaves a big grease spot, the gel is made of petroleum so it's greasy. You can wish all you want but if the surface it even a little oily it won't pick up.

I will try this, I really hope that these suggestions work. I have NEVER been able to pick up the design on my stamper. I've tried different nail polishes, and I've also purchased more stampers thinking that something was wrong with the stampers, then I purchased more stamping plates, to no avail. I even clean the stampers with mild soap AND TAPE for every use. 2 days ago, I decided that I wouldn't keep trying, and now I see this video. Does anyone have any other suggestions for me? I am very frustrated but more sad 😔.

Hi Nekita, sorry to hear that you are having issues getting started with stamping! One of the most common problems we see with the stamper not picking up polish is pressing too hard/too long on the stamper or over scraping. If you feel like you are pressing down like using a rubber stamp, you are using way too much force! On a scale of 1-10, the pressure should be a 1, just barely touching the plate with a quick rolling motion. Here's a live video showing how stamping pressure affects the outcome of your stamp: czcams.com/video/d88NVRcISxY/video.html
Scrape the polish away from the plate just once or twice gently. If you are scraping repeatedly or too forcefully, you will remove too much polish for a proper pickup. Be sure you are cleaning the plate in between use with 100% acetone only as using other types of removers will leave a residue on your plate affecting your pick up. Ive been having problems with my stampers, especially the one to shrink the stamp. I already tried cleaning it, keeping it on tape going lightly but it doesn’t seem to be working.

I was having problems, and once I realized I was having a similar problems even with different stampers, I felt like it might be the polish. My polish was Maniology stamping polish, and it had never been opened yet, so it should have been fine.
It seemed like I was not picking up all of the design, so I was wondering if the nail polish wasn't runny and loose enough to come out of the design. I added just a couple drops of nail polish thinner to the bottle of polish. You need to shake it well to distribute it, but it worked well for me.
I haven't been stamping long, but I bought the nail polish thinner because I felt like the black polish I got in my starter kit was too thick. Once I thinned that with a drop or two, it started working really well for me. I wonder if there are some colors in particular that tend to sort of thicken easily...?

It's normal for stamping polishes to get thick and sometimes separate while in storage. We recommend giving them a vigorous shake before use to help distribute the pigments. If they have thickened over time, you can safely add a few drops of polish thinner to them to reconstitute the consistency. If you are unable to revive the polish, please let us know and we can issue you a store credit for it. Hope this helps! Thank you!

@@Maniology hello, I’ve tried that. Some times I have problem with the cleat stamper. When it finally gets and I transfer it to the shrinking gome it does not stick, I loose the design
