As a truck driver from Canada. I don’t think most realize how tough it is to load equipment and chain them up. You make it look easy 👍👍
The ratchet binders make all the difference, getting chains tight with the old binders is a workout and I've had the bar ripped out of my hands and sent sailing 50' through the air more than once when it didn't snap closed...never got smacked with it
In my last job chains were my least favorite part.
And now you can get them also with gears for a cordless drill! Where will this spoiling stop? ;D
@@jonathanellis8737 If you have to get chains over a tall load, instead of climbing with them throw a strap over the load then wrap an end of the chain around the D-ring and pull the chains back over. It's still a workout if the chains are heavy but much easier than trying to throw them.
@@uppsalahazzemarkstedt2759 Those drill binders are useless. Buying a spare drill just in case your main one breaks is a lot more expensive than buying an extra load bar just in case you lose your main one and you don't have to worry about keeping batteries fully charged either.

Welcome back, Angelica!!! Glad to see someone who actually puts in the steering lock in a piece of articulating equipment. Here in the states thats an automatic ticket if u don't. Always a good idea to leave a note on the steering wheel to remind urself or other person who might be unloading it as well

So.. did i get this right. This was right of the factory in Eskilstuna in Sweden. Then it was moved to the harbor, shipped up to Torneå Harbour in Finland, then you trucked it back to Sweden.
As someone how is really tall. From the perspective from someone how is a bit shorter, those trucks look freaking enormous

Great to see you back on CZcams! Here in the USA we call those trailers lowboys.
A lowboy is a semi-trailer with two drops in deck height: one right after the gooseneck and one right before the wheels. This allows the deck to be extremely low compared with other trailers. It offers the ability to carry legal loads up to 12 ft tall, which other trailers cannot. 🇸🇪 🇺🇸
You have described a double drop low boy but a single drop would have a drop behind the gooseneck however the deck will be level with the rear wheels
Hope you didn't hurt yourself when you fell I've done that a lot over the year's and they hurt more then they use to the next day but stay safe stay healthy .So keep putting out the video's so we no how your doing in your day to day life till next time keep on trucking

In the US we call those equipment trailers a "low boy".

We call them Maskintrailer - 'my own' translation to english would be: Machine trailer because you transport mostly all kinds of machines on them.
Another type is the ramp trailer (same words swe/eng), which means you got two ramps in the end the trailer for loading/ unloading equimpent.
Smaller machines (up to 15-16tons or so) can be moved on a 'maskin flak', eng= flat bed for hook trucks.
Similar equipment like in the US i asume, but the gross weight would differ I guess.

I don't think even the best workpants are Kevlar protected and padded in the back? ;D

Angelica i have to point out when you put on as you put it" the lock on to prevent it from moving" that is the red bar between the skip and the rear of the, that is actually put there, by Volvo, to lock the articulation, so that the dump truck can be lifted by a crane into a ships hold or into a hole, what you did was not necessary the handbrake alone would have held it, as my memory serves me correctly the handbrake can hold the dumptruck on a incline of 30 degress either way up or down :) :)

If you ever move another one of these dump trucks fold the mirror frames back towards the cab for transporting. Those electric mirrors are ridiculously expensive to replace if they are hit by any roadside tree branches 👍
Shit the plastic grill on a standard Volvo truck is $800 bucks the chrome Volvo badge is $300....NOTHING cheap about a Volvo period

that happens when daily job is hauling cargo :D Probably mining equipment rides on her trailers, those get very big. She once loaded huge tires for them I think.
