Big fan on this dev. I think the story told through the tapes and the “true ending” are pretty well done, but I get not wanting to play over/under 30 times in a row.
All these 'gamble with your life' horror games that have come out recently have been scratching the mad itch I've had ever since I watched you play RE7's 21 DLC and I LOVE it!! Hope this trend continues for a little bit, seeing how creative people can get with these concepts is a blast. Thanks for uploading this!
John breezing through the initial game by just aggressively risking it for the multiplier is super funny considering how much difficulty I’ve seen during other people’s playthroughs.
up to you John. if it doesn't spark joy, don't feel like you have to finish it. I like the lore but agree that the vehicle of it is repetitive. It is very very fun to me to see how fast you are getting at blowing through the rounds.
Man, John's luck was so good in the first half and so rotten in the second! The rounds at 48 and 54 minute marks! I really enjoy games like this and 21 too, and the sound design in this one is especially good. The story through the tapes sounds like it's off to a good start, very SCP Foundation which I don't mind, but I like the scattered stories they're doing and I can see them getting creepier as you go.
I was just thinking how much this game reminds me of Buckshot, I think it's given ground to a new genre of roulette horror; feels like an evolution of the FNAF formula (resource management, looming threats, time limits, etc.) while capturing the gritty feeling gambling for and against your own life in the hopes of maybe making it out alive. The rules of the game and it's story, where it exists, is all show and no tell and left up to the player to figure out. I'm glad it's getting recognized and picked up by big players, I had one hell of a time with this one for sure
I'm cracking up at the the arguments in the comments section on bread rolls vs biscuits. I would not have expected this under this video. Contributing here, I'm just gonna say people are gonna have to experience the well-known Red Lobster biscuits, Church's honey biscuits, or Popeye's biscuits to know how different they hit compared to a bread roll, LOL. Biscuits and gravy is soul food. Anyways, interesting game! It's definitely similar to the roulette game, but the stakes feel much higher and the results each round put you on the edge, especially if you get it wrong.
Retro John Wolfe experience Still Wakes The Deep was great too. An inhuman insensible monster that thrives on oil and human suffering? Simultaneously we've got our personal human drama. Funny that Bioshock explores the idea and failings of free-market capitalism, and now

If you plan on playing again, I think it would be good to go through the whole help section. I believe there is some info that will fill in some gaps on gameplay. You basically figured everything out, so awesome job on that. Always fun watching you play!

Probabilities… For fascinating math reasons alone (so, not to correct you): Probabilities for the individual rounds (by themselves) follow the expected cut & dry probability. However, even with imperfect RNGenerators (assuming they’re trying to be “fair”, when taking previous rounds into account (including rolls from ALL previous playthroughs, or as many as possible), probabilities do shift balance out the rolls. Effectively, adjusting the midpoint of the number range that you’re using in “over/under” by a 1 or 2 wouldn’t be insane. Eg. If the number range is 1-30, and the number has rolled “above average” 5+ times in a row, and 14 appears, then I’d confidently choose “under”.

Bread and gravy isn't new to us. You have to know that. Like, literally one of the most popular things to eat for lunch for manual workers (construction etc) is hot roast pork/beef sandwiches/cobs/baps/rolls and the meat is always in gravy. Usually with the options of stuffing, apple sauce and mustard (among other things). This bread and gravy concept isn't new to us.
As another commenter said, pastry and gravy is hardly new territory for us. We've got Yorkshire puddings and gravy, we've got baps/cobs/rolls with meat and gravy, it's nothing unique.
