- The Netflix Series "From Me to You: Kimi ni Todoke," a joint production from TV Tokyo and Netflix, will start streaming worldwide from Thursday, 30 March, 2023, only on Netflix. This series is based on one of manga artist Karuho Shiina's most well-known works, which was serialized in Bessatsu Margaret (published by Shueisha) from 2006 to 2017 and won the Best Shojo Manga award at the 32nd Annual Kodansha Manga Award.
First-year high school student Sawako Kuronuma finds it hard to fit in with her classmates and is mockingly nicknamed “Sadako” because of her long black hair and pale skin. As she lives her lonely school life, she meets a boy who talks to her and doesn't care about the rumors. His name is Shota Kazehaya, and he is the most popular student in his class, loved by everyone for his cheerful personality. By talking with Kazehaya, Sawako slowly begins to open up to her other classmates. As she lives the high school life she always dreamed of, her feelings toward Kazehaya begin to change...

Yeah, and this version seems to go further up to their graduation and when they become official, so I'm so excited. Plus, I just want to see Sawako's iconic confession. I think they will include all of the memorable parts in the manga in this live action :)
Literally my favorite anime. I could relate so much to Sawako as a teen. I was isolated and in desperate need of friends. Makes me cry every time 🥲

I remember when I watched the 2010 version, happy, cried, laugh, cried again, and smile in the end. One of the best japanese live action to these days.
Even my friend who didn't watch japanese dorama, felt so blessed to watch the 2010 version.
It was true to characters, plot, setting, the atmosphere almost perfect back then. It seems like the manga' and anime' characters came to live.
I know they couldnt beat the 2010 version but still, I appreciated their effort to bring back this wonderful anime in live action in series. Waiting for more episodes and season ^^

Just listening to the actress imitate the original VA’s speaking style for Sawako, it takes me back. This is so nostalgic, and I’m looking forward to seeing them bring this story to life once more.
I really love Kimi ni Todoke. The anime, manga and 1st live adaptation all hold a special place in my heart. RIP Haruma Miura, he will always be the perfect Kazehaya, with that refreshing smile that melted my heart as a teen. Also Tabe Mikako is also the best Kuronuma Sawako for me. She has that natural gloomy aura and glaring eyes but is really beautiful when she smiles, just like Sawako. The casting was top tier for the first live adaptation. It will be difficult to top it but I will check this out because nostalgia!

I wish the author continued the story of them maybe 10 years later so we can see how everyone is doing, KazehayaxSawako & RyuxChizu married, Kento & Kurumi finding their loves (maybe with each other), and Pin seeing Ayane in a new light seeing as she’s grown up as a woman. Good love story material right there lol!
So lovely, it made tear up in happiness several times. Im so glad it didn’t just adapt what the original anime showed (which deserves a complete remake like Fruits Basket!) but the complete manga as well. I loved Kazehaya x Sawako’s love story, it’s so sweet. The standout for me tho was Ryu x Chizu’s story.

I can't explain how much happy I am. I really appreciate those people who come up with this story again. Watching this once again will bring back old memories. I hope every high school students watch this movie if they haven’t watch the anime yet.

Miura Haruma, you are greatly missed. I will never forget you as Kazehaya-kun, Hiro in Koizora, Hiroto in Last cinderella, Fujimaru in Bloody monday, and all the other wonderful characters you portrayed. Kimi ni todoke is one of my all time favorite mangas and so I will cheer this adaptation on!

I used to watch the Kimi Ni Todoke movie every year but can't bring myself to since Haruma Miura's passing. Actually, I'm just watching this trailer and getting tears in my eyes. Haruma's Kazehaya will always be in our hearts but I think we need to give Ouji a chance. He will not be casted if he doesn't give that refreshing and youthful vibe of Kazehaya. his got the youthful, refreshinh vibe and he got a beautiful smile that fits the description in the manga. Watched him in silent too and I can say that I can see the vision and I believe he will give justice to the role same goes to Sara Minami as Sawako. They will definitely nail their characters.
Ouji is one of my favorite actors in jdrama, his past works are amazing so I will be looking forward to this but I'll miss Haruma as Kazehaya...
This is exactly what I had in mind! I love Haruma Miura (RIP 😢), but I don't think it's fair to judge Ouji's portrayal of Kazehaya Shota without even watching the series.
@@irumi1318 like I get that we all love Haruma but I hate to see people judging Ouji because they don't want another person to do the role again. Ouji is a great actor. I think people should hope that this live action will show more sides of the manga that we didn't get to see in the movie. I rlly want to see Sawako's character development, Ryu and chizu's story, ayane and pin and kazehaya's family's story arc. Instead of judging the actors let's look forward and be thankful we will see these beautiful characters come to life again.

Kazehaya is a popular, friendly guy that is always surrounded by people and he has that certain tone when speaking. THIS NEW ACTOR playing Kazeha sounds like someone who got bullied. It’s just giving full on introvert. 😩

This was genuinely one of my favorite manga and animes a child. I have vivid memories associated with this anime in relation to the place I was in. I am excited for the live adaption even if it can't beat how good the anime was in my mind (can't beat it mostly due to nostalgia on my part, not due to any production or acting values)

I just finished this series and I cried almost in every episode. I can relate to the three beautiful ladies and ryu in every situation in my life before, and maybe until now. I did not know that there was an anime about this, but I fell in love with all the characters 😭

Love this show it’s refreshing and pure.
The OG live action movie nailed it so well that it felt like the anime really came to life, from the acting of the main and side characters to the sets. It was just amazing and what I still consider to this day as my all time favorite Japanese movie.
Hope everyone gave this one a chance, but not set the bar too high since this is Netflix we're talking about. If it's disappointing then we still have the original but I still hope this one does well.

This sure brings back memories. I watched the anime when I was in highschool. I went to collage, graduated, and now I've been working for 4 years. I don't think any real sawako could play sadako though unless they use vfx, which was the main point of the whole series.

I remember watching Kimi no Todoke (anime) back in 2012, falling in love with the whole story and ofc, Kazehaya being my fictional crush since (lol…and Usui).
Then, I watched the movie with Haruma (😢❤) and still was very much in love with this whole story.
Speaking on Usui, I wish they made a drama out of Kaichou wa Maid Sama too, it would do so well.
