Biryani name comes from the word biryan which means rice according to chef ranveer brar in one of his videos on biryani

Its also called biryan and sometimes biryani also in eastern up areas may be some parts of Bihar as Satyam belongs to that area may be that’s why he referred to. But name biryani doesn’t come from there I guess
