- I'm testing the Danessa Myricks Blurring Balm Powder as a primer on my oily skin...
Watch my review on the Blurring Balm Powder in Shade 8 here:
• Danessa Myricks Blurri...
The Danessa Myricks Blurring Balm Powder comes in 10 skin-tone shades and a translucent shade. I've already tested shade 8 and I was very impressed at how it actually reduced oil after wearing it all day. Today I'm testing the translucent shade as a primer under a liquid foundation. I want to see if this Blurring Balm Powder also helps with oil production when paired with other foundations and used a primer. I don't usually wear foundation primer, but this just might make me change my mind...

There is a noticeable difference for sure less shiny and more natural at check in
I did notice a difference on the DM side as far as controlling the oils on your skin. I’m so impressed.
Hey , yes I can see a slight difference you look more airbrushed on the primer side , now I'm considering picking up the universal one 🧐very pretty love it thanks for sharing
Yes I would highly recommend the universal because you can use it with any other foundation. I hope you decide to get it!
That looks great as a primer. Smooth but not overly airbrushed. That balm powder is amazing.
Yes I can’t wait to try it with some other foundations!
I wore the DM universal shade as a primer on my wedding day under the DM Yummy Foundation and it was magnificent! It lasted all day!
Congratulations 🍾 💕!! Yes those DM products are perfect for such an occasion
Brilliant idea & amazing results!
Thank you 🥰
I think the universal shade is the one for me. Great review
Thank you. I am so happy I got it!!
You’ve sold me on the translucent shade as a primer!
Thank you and I hope you love it!! Thanks for watching 💕
Thank you for another great video. The side with the primer looks much smoother!
Thank you for watching 💕
First video and loved it! I recently purchased this and looking for info and wear tests ❤
Wow! I really can tell a difference. As a fellow oily girl, I really appreciate this review and the natural light look at it as well. So pretty!
Thanks!! This is definitely going to be a repurchase because I’m using it up like crazy
Thank you for this review! I am definitely trying the universal color based on your review.
Thank you and I’m sure you will love it!! It’s really an amazing product!
Yes! I love the DM balm powder under my Pat McGrath foundation. I have shade 8 and the universal shade…but I feel like I don’t need both. I am considering returning the universal shade and keep shade 8 because I can wear it alone and under foundation. Thanks for sharing!❤️❤️❤️
I am definitely returning shade 8 but I’ll keep 7 and the universal one. This combo is everything!! I’m gonna try it with the new nars and makeup forever ones next
Thanks for sharing I was wondering if I could use my shade 8 under foundation
Very useful review…thank you. I agree w all your observations, your skin was definitely yummier w the blurring balm. Cheers!
So happy to find this video 😊 ... subscribed!! It's crazy that primer is clear and that side does look brighter, more radiant, and perfected.
Yes I love this stuff! Thank you and welcome 💕
Love your video - a true wear test! Soooo interesting how it even makes the foundation pop - it looks like it could be a different shade. I also love your lighting, how it shows your skin more naturally - some videos are much much too blown out with their lighting that it’s difficult to see what’s truly going on. My oily skin thanks you! I can’t wait to try it!!
Thank you so much for the feedback ☺️!!
That balm is good- Girl it looks really nice under the foundation - very pretty 💜
Thank you!! I love it!!
I was looking for a review with this exact combo of the blurring balm powder and Pat McGrath foundation. Thanks for your review and wear test.
Thank you for watching and I’m glad this helped 😊
Also, the primer side is a huge difference!!! It looks amazing with your foundation. So glad I bought it.. can't wait to see how it turns out in photos and different lighting.
Yes this really is an amazing product
The side with DM, looks lifted and the foundation shade looks brighter. I’d definitely use this product with this foundation. I’m picking up universal to use as a primer and I never prime under my foundation. I recently tried the hourglass vanish and it’s really nice.
I have been going back and forth about trying hourglass for the longest time so maybe I will finally pick it up. I’ll be trying this balm with the nars and makeup forever foundations mixed next time!
It is looking flawless. I wanted the skin toned blurring balm then I saw Jones Road and now I want that lol.
Thank you for this great review!! I also don't wear foundation or primer. Or concealer for that matter. Just skincare, highlighter, sometimes blush or bronzer if I'm going out. But I was so intrigued by the translucent shade - I just tried it on my face and it's pretty amazing. I'm trying to figure out how I'll layer makeup on top of it / if I should put my skincare on before I apply the balm powder, so this is super helpful. I also didn't know what type of brush to use😂 as someone who doesn't really wear face makeup lol. But now I know! It looks amazing on you.
Thanks for this feedback and I’m glad this was helpful 💕!!
Girl I thought the the shade powder was it but you demonstrated a whole new look. I'm returning the shade for just the universal powder. I love the look with Pat McGrath foundation and the UV powder together.
Thank you!! I ended up swapping shade 9 for 7, but I might return 7 too because the universal one is it!
Wow I do notice the difference between the primer vs non primer side. You are correct it does look absolutely flawless and beautiful.
Thank you!!
Just visited your REM concealer review and I wanted to tell you I really like your overall under eyes over here. Also the Danessa Myricks primer balm looks amazing. However, I'm really feeling your under eyes here and want to try the same thing. 👍
Thank you so much 😊
There was a little difference with the balm under your foundation..I have been looking for someone to demo the universal shade as a primer and you're the first person I came up on so thank you. I bought this one yesterday to use as same but I also want to try shade 8 or 9.. I'm little oily in t-zone so I'm excited for anything that will help with my oils
Thank you so much for watching and yes, this product will definitely help with the oils!!
Dang it I missed this ughh and now I am thinking to get this for minimalist look
Yes it’s great for minimal makeup
@@SonyaNicole exactly what I need
I don’t really wear primer either, but I think I should use the universal shade too 🧐
You can also use this alone just to give your skin a nice blur without foundation!
Thank you for your review. Have you tried the translucent powder balm over your foundation as a setting powder and if so, did it just look like a heavier coverage or did it enhance your makeup? Thank you
🤔 I didn’t even know it could be used like that, but makes sense since it is a powder. I have a feeling it would move the foundation around because it applies as a balm but takes a little bit to set as a powder. Thank you for watching ☺️
@@SonyaNicole yes you can use the balm powder to set your foundation (by using the translucent color) and you can use it as a primer under your foundation or even as your foundation or as a spot concealer with the tinted versions. I purchased color 4 which I use in conjunction with the Yummy Serum foundation. I just use the balm in color 4 on my cheekbones as my concealer to cover hyperpigmentation. After that I use a cream blush from Melt. It looks REALLY good however I do need to set my face, especially the cream blush. When I use powder it looks HEAVY and cakey where I have the balm as the concealer. I almost feel this balm powder should not be set with an actual powder as it will just make your skin look either dry or just cakey. Maybe if you use the balm powder in a light layer you may be able to set with powder but the way I use it, I need coverage. I love this balm powder as my concealer on my cheekbones as it just makes my skin look so good but I do need to set that cream blush with something. I think I'll order the translucent balm powder and just use it over the blush area and hopefully it does the trick by setting the blush. I will use a flat top brush and just pat it into place which will not disturb the makeup underneath. Then after it sets for a couple of mins I'll use a flat DRY sponge (Real Techniques Sponge) and pat over that area just to blot off any excess and at the same time pat it all in so it's all melted into the skin.
