Baron! The easiest way to identify a dive bomber or Torpedo bomber is that Dive bombers generally have those wings that start out flat but then curve outwards, whilst torpedo bombers have straight wings.

Yeah, that's a type 3 AA Shell that was specifically made for that Yamato.
They weren't good, but thats still an 18 inch AA shell.
In fact, all of the AA the Yamato had was just terrible.
So much so in fact, that the US lost more planes when her ammo detonated than when she was shooting at them.
iirc the little streaks coming outa it were little heated flatchettes

@@Stella-gm7bo not entirely certain, Drach's video, which is where I've heard this from, didn't really use a lot of quote regarding the sinking of the Yamato, but that sounds pretty accurate to how it ended up being.
@@nukclear2741 didn’t he also said that the main turrets are way too slow for targeting aircraft and that it actually wears out the gun more then a conventional round? I can’t remember anymore
@@Stella-gm7bo well, in regards to being too slow, the 18 inch rounds could fire put to a significantly longer distance than the standard AA shell, so that part didn't matter.
As for wearing out the guns, I'm not sure, I'll have to see about that.
I saw this video on my fyp realizing that i recognized this guy and remembering the nostalgia i got from this single man who made my day. The AA flak fire that comes from the 18.1 inch guns is cause from a certain ammunition they used called the Beehive round. This was a shell filled with shrapnel and metal shards that were sharp. It is also filled with with flammable liquids like phosphorus I think. These would explode mid air making clouds of shrapnel. Even though in theory they were pretty good, the large guns couldn’t rotate fast enough to track aircraft accurately.
Yamato was a true warrior. Respect to the honor and beauty of the Yamato.
I don't know what it'd be called but base management whilst in game matches would ba badass and pretty neat. Building fortifications and whatnot is always nice to see

Ironically the general term for that structure is Citadel…so close yet so far lol
@@KleinesStein, isn’t the citadel an armoured box - usually amidship - within the hull of a ship? It’s main purpose was to protect the vulnerable internal areas of the ship, and in some cases help with keeping the ship afloat by creating an enclosed air pocket which (hopefully) couldn’t be penetrated by enemy ordinance.

That "depth charge launcher" is the crane to lift the scout planes from the below deck hangars.
Make a battle vs a covenant corvet or cruiser or assault ship
It's been so long since I played this, I remember the open beta or alpha
Edit: Also those are more than likely 500 Pound Bombs. If I remember right, the SBD-3 Dauntless can carry 250LB, 500LB, (Maybe) 750LB, and 1000LB bombs, with two 250's and one 500, or two 500's, one 750 and two 250's maybe, and one 1000

Incase you didnt know the 18.1 inch guns doesnt means the shells length was 18.1 inches its the shells DIAMETER thats 18.1 inches

The typical bomb load for the sbd-3 was 1 500 pounder in the center and 2 100 pouders on the wings for reference of the dautlass bomb load

The correct way to to simultaneously attack with 500 aircraft. Doing it 4-5 at a time would end the same way. There should be 3 or more other carriers to make it an equal fight.

The Yamato trying to ground itself was in fact a real thing, during the US invasion of Okinawa, the Japanese sent a task force to Okinawa (Yamato included) to go and beach themselves on the island to essentially become me an unsinkable fortress and prevent the invasion, that obviously never happened because it was sunk by US planes before it got there
Idea: Have a bunch of planes on the defense of a huge island

Who ever made this mod does not know about the Yamoto first,I believe it had more guns,second there were way more aircraft carriers and some friendly destroyers , the Yamoto was firing at the carriers and destroyers,last but not least there were also multiple Japanese cruisers in the fleet
