    I love my Husqvarna T540iXP but I use the BLI200X battery with it. Cuts super fast for a battery saw and lasts a long time.

    Super interesting comparison video. Thanks for putting this together; I’ve been wondering how the Stihl MSA 220C compared to others on the market, including the Husqvarna 540iXP (which has amazing reviews elsewhere). I saw in the comments that you didn’t get chance to use the AP300S battery on the Stihl, which is a shame but it’s also important to note that the charging times demonstrated should reflect the batteries’ power capacity. Whilst the Husqvarna may have taken the longest to charge, I checked and it’s 9.8Ah, whereas the Stihl AP300 is only 6.3Ah, so no wonder it was so much quicker. The AP300S is still only 7.8Ah by comparison but I’ve seen how it gives a massive performance boost to the MSA220C saw too, so maybe they’re much more evenly matched if this is taken into account. Didn’t check the battery specs of the Echo or the EGO, but clearly the batteries’ spec will be central to how all these perform.

      Hi Stephen, thanks for your feedback. Husqvarna is performing also very good due to the SP21 oregon chain. I did a separate test with the 540iXP on a 3/8 1,3 chain (like the others) and the performance was equal.

    In the US, EGO is a homeowner brand sold in regular DIY stores. I wonder why the european importer wants these tools on the same shelf as Stihl or Husqy.

    Stihl has introduced the all-new MSA 300 cordless chainsaw, powered by the new AP 500 S battery, which is unbeatable. The chain speed of 30 m/s speaks for itself. There is one promotional video on CZcams so far.

      Hopefully the AP500S can be used in the msa220 which would be nice.

    Excellent test. Only you have the strongest battery powered saws (stihl msa 220 and husky 540i) in dirwct comparison. 👍👍 Maybee for the stihl, its a disadvantage using the AP300 instead of the AP300s. On the other hand the husqvarna has a 40cm sword. But not that big deal. The Echo looks nice too. The ego looks a big clumsy. I heard some complaines about the egos battery overheats fast. Can you tell such problems?

    • @JanMaesOutdoorTraining
      @JanMaesOutdoorTraining  Před 3 lety

      Hi Muli Muli, According the dealer and the Stihl website I can use AP200, AP300 & AP300s in the MSA220. the difference in run-time between AP300 & AP300s is 2min so I doubt there will be a significant difference between the 2 batteries. Stihl proposed to try the AP300 vs AP300s so I can do a side by side test, but no further news from their side. :(
      Regarding the EGO battery I didn't experienced the overheating, but maybe that's a good thing to try.

      @JanMaesOutdoorTraining  Před 3 lety +3

      Hello Franco, thank you for your comment and question. First of all it's not a stupid question, but next week's video will answer some of your questions.
      In this test I've used following batteries:
      Echo 2P = 185Wh
      Stihl AP300 = 227Wh
      Husqvarna BLI300 =336Wh
      EGO BT2800 = 280Wh
      In a previous movie with the 200Wh batteries (MSA200 vs DCS1600 vs 535iXP) Husqvarna had also a longer time needed then what was given from factory, but they all performed good.
      In 2 weeks I will launch my evaluation video about the 4 chainsaws.
      Stay tuned.

    I am a huskvarna fun I just buy the sthil because here in Portugal is about 200 euros cheaper, I have the 300S battery and the 300 but so far I haven't notice that much of a difference. However anyone barely lasts 30 minutes. So far I not feel so bad about the sthil my only negative is that it seems like some Chinese thing I mean to much cheap plastic and the way the chain and blade atach don't seems like a professional to run all day, seems more for ocasional and not professional.

  • @sirvozelo1
    @sirvozelo1 Před rokem

    As I said I buy the stihl at that time and not the hsukvarna because the price, the time had pass and never have problems I can say I am happy, because one battery fits all I end up buying the Stihl 161T (a work horse), the trimmer 135 and now about 2 months ago I buy the Stihl MSA300, this one is a different story is no way the 22OC got even closer, you just cant compare the 220C with MSA300, I been using the AP500 battery and the AP300S however with AP300S it only works in ECO-MODE, you not getting full power. In my opinion the MSA300 is a great and powerful saw, the down side is that even the bigger battery AP500 it feel like still weak for this saw. I hope stihl with come up with a battery at same level as this saw the MSA300.

      Hello Dean, Thank you for your comment. The most important for a battery are the Wh (Watt hours) This is Voltage x Amp hours. Stihl and Husqvarna using 36V batteries, Echo is using 56V batteries. Stihl and Husqvarna need to increase their Ah in order to reach higher Wh/power output from the batteries. Higher Ah will lead to Higher temperatures generated during charing and discharging what will activate the overload protection much quicker and will also shorten the battery cell life time.
