- Heart Evangelista has been described as "the darling of the Philippines" and ever since I watched her in the "These Are The Real 'Crazy Rich Asians" by Harper's BAZAAR I wanted to learn more about her. So we decided to react to her insane walk-in closet that is truly more like a boutique than a closet. We learn about her painting of Hermes bags as well as get a look inside how she spends her money on luxury goods.

She's an artist. So she doesn't buy expensive brands to flex them. She buys them because she sees them as art. Hence, the Hermes scarves being framed and her hermes bags being painted.

In the Harry Potter film, she was also offered to play Cho Chang, but declined. Both reasons was that, she can't imitate a British accent.

You need to seriously look up some of the filipino designers she mentions. Philippines has so much underrated talent when it comes to fashion and such a unique history of artisans with skills involving fabric that merge with modern style

Heart is old rich so she doesn't have to prove anything while Jeffree is nouveau riche and tends to flaunt his riches. Though nouveau riche is usually derogatory because they're deemed to be less classy, and people like Heart Evangelista are put on high regard because her family has been rich for generations. It sucks that people put terms like that based on money, it seems so scrutinizing. But it is true and it's more evident at least to me in asia. I visited the National Cowgirl Museum in Ft. Worth, Texas last week. Part of their permanent collection is a collection of framed Hermes scarves, all with an equestrian theme...makes sense, right? There are probably 40 pieces, hung on the walls of their two monumental staircases, not dissimilar to how Heart displays hers. They are truly amazing.

Edit 2: okay since some don’t get it. This was before it was common knowledge of using sweat shops. And where I lived (Qatar) the clothes were really good and lasted a while. It may have change since then but I haven’t shopped there in a while. And styles in different countries are always different. You won’t find the same thing in every country.
Fun fact, Zara in Asia is really good. It’s one of the “high end” stores. Asia is very modern and chic when it comes to clothing, so designers in each brand have to adjust to what they like. In America, the style is much different, so you won’t expect the same type of style here (I was born in Qatar and zara, mango, H&M and Mango were those really good stores. They had amazing pieces, they didn’t give anything to revealing mainly because of the law, so they had to find other styles)
I wouldn't say (Zara) highend level, but it's right up there. Maybe pricey(-er) than other local brands, but not highend level.. H&M, Uniqlo, Mango and others are more affordable... actually, it depends on what item you're buying overall..

Agreed. For a third world country like the Philippines, it is considered "high end" for us since the clothes aren't priced too affordably. Sure, if you're crazy rich, it's an affordable brand for you, but for people who are middle class or below, it can be considered "high end" considering that there are more affordable brands out there in the market. Also just felt like mentioning, a few years ago (before all the crazy rich asian hype got around), I even saw Heart shopping at Zara, so her saying she loves the brand wasn't a surprise at all to me :)
whether she had shown her entire closet or not, she still doesn't overspend that much because she funds a lot of charity events and organizations that are in line with her advocacies. i believe that's why she still had a sense of simplicity in her lifestyle.
