Hi Kanella. When I was in the Marines, I was stationed at Camp Pendleton just north of San Diego. One place I found in LaJolla was called the shell and came shop. It was neat because it had an entrance to a cave in the shop. If it is at low tide, you can go down, but if it is high tide, the cave floods. The shop had a lot of gifts to buy.
I think the outline with gold leaf would be amazing, you can always fill in totally, if you feel that will make the piece. Another beautiful painting.😊
I love the idea of gold leafing in the center. And I love the idea of outlining with gold leafing. And you could add sparkles in the middle after outlining in gold leaf to give a "faux geode look". Or with a green pallatte you could add silver or copper foil in the middle for contrast. I think all of your ideas are fantastic!!! So many to chose from. I'm looking forward to the decision the majority (and you) make and enjoying the beauty of your future paintings, whatever the decision is. Hey Ms Kanella!! I think with the colors that's in it, u should leave the black in the center but add one of your sea turtle stencils to the center, on top of the black, and paint the stencil gold! I thought of that because the black negative space already kinda looks like a sea turtle. I think it would look amazing with a turtle!

Much as I like green in general, that green colour did seem to take over the painting . The way you fixed up the one spot broke up the green a bit which worked well! I'd love to see what the gold leafing looks like for this painting too!! Looking forward to the dried and/or resined results!

I love love love the gold leafing outline idea! I would love it even more if you would do it on camera. I really struggle with gold leafing. I have a hard time getting the loose little flecks off of the rest of my painting. Not to mention the fact that the stuff gets EVERYWHERE! Dont worry about mispronouncing La Jolla here in SD, it happens all the time. Another one you'll hear is "Jamacha" which is said as "hamashaw". I love these new square blowouts. I'll have to try one. Ever think about doing these on round or triangle canvases? Those would be a lot of fun too! Could be a whole colors/shapes series. And also maybe your color split backgrounds. White in the middle, black on the outside?
one of my Favs of this type of design… I think I’m just have a preference of this type of color combo and not the rainbow. … I know a lot of people do like it, but this to me this is just classy and stunning and very, very beautiful.
