    That was great. I used to work for Wagner Mining Equipment Co. We used a lot of Deutz engines in our mining machines. On the V series engine we had a unique double oil cooler assembly that sat on top of the motor that was used to cool Hydraulic and transmission oil systems. We installed turbochargers on them for operation at high altitudes so the engines where thinking they where at sea level. It’s my belief that Deutz didn’t install turbo’s just to up the horsepower but I could be wrong. Generally speaking turbocharged Deutz engine modifications where done by the dealers or equipment manufactures , but the kits came from Deutz.

    I had an Italian16' van with a five cylinder DEUTZ diesel engine, one of the most brilliantly designed engines of all time, only two problems the fan cooling belt tensioner bearing was a flop design, so I had to carry an extra belt, bearing and tools so when the RED light turned on I could pull to the side of the road and replace the bearing in less than 30 minutes I could replace it . Next the manual transmission clutch was not up to the job and needed replacing once a year, the worst clutch combination I have ever seen in my lifetime of now 80 years 40 of that in the automotive repair industry...

    The air cooled 4 cylinder, on my Belarus 400 tractor, looks almost identical to the 4 cylinder Deutz, and very similar to the 6 cylinder pictured in this video. I wonder if it is a Deutz engine, or is at least, liscensed from Deutz to Belarus. It is a very strong engine, and doesn't burn much fuel.

    can on deutz engine power be raised by unscrewing a screw on bosch pump?

    • @tomchrisfield7348
      @tomchrisfield7348 Před 3 lety +2

      Certain injector pumps can. We had a D 6006 4 cylinder with a Bosch pump and turned the HP from 60 to 93 with a simple injector pump adjustment.

    • @MrMopar413
      @MrMopar413 Před 3 lety +4

      As for the other reply maybe depending on the pump, but you got to know what your doing. I used to work for Wagner Mining Equipment Co and we used a lot of Deutz engines and if the machine was going to a mine high up in the mountains we installed a altitude comp kit from Deutz that consisted of turbochargers and extra parts for the intake and exhaust manifolds and new drive gear set that ran the pump and what that did is speed up the pump to basically pump more fuel. You had to install the new gear set and retime the pump. It’s my opinion that anytime you take a naturally aspirated engine then install a turbocharger you need to speed up the pump. Now if you leave the engine in a naturally aspirated condition then do this you might end up pumping more fuel then needed and end up making a lot of black smoke.

      most stationary diesel engines nowdays are turbocharged. Except a few single cylinder smaller ones

    • @repairdroid77
      @repairdroid77 Před 3 lety +4

      I've personally worked with diesel turbo charged caterpillar powered turbine air compressors that ran at full throttle for days at a time. The only time they would be shut down was for oil changes or fuel system servicing (fuel filters ect) They were refueled while running. They never overheated because the engineers who designed then factored in all of the variables the engine would be operated at for the given application.
      Any engine can be adapted to a stationary application as long as it has proper cooling. That is determined by the fan/radiator/coolant pump/thermostat/ hoses in liquid cooled engines or the fan/ducting/damper door on air cooled ones. You can over cool an engine just as you can over heat them. Both issues have their own sets of problems. Both can be solved with a little bit of time invested in troubleshooting.
