    Clearly, if automotive wiring is not your preference, Model T is your best friend. Thanks for making this as simple and clear as possible Charlie!👀

    Very clear easy to understand video on this subject. I've heard so much about Model T timers at club meetings from guys that like to hear themselves talk. But never understood them. At least now I know how to time one correctly.

    Great video! Be aware that the locating pin hole on some later camshafts is drilled all the way through, so it is possible to install the timer roller 180 degrees off from its proper setting.

    It is good practice to turn the two front oil pan bolts over so that their heads point up towards the timer. This increases the clearance between the bolts and the timer terminals and reduces the chance that one of the terminals will ground out on a bolt as the timer is moved by the timing lever.

      @onewhocollects6781 Před 11 měsíci +1

      That would help. also, the bolts on this engine are way too long which gives it even less clearance.

    Another great T video. Thanks. When are you going to do something about that poorly-fitting "hood"?

  • @thesaintdiscjockeyentertai5741

    A quick question from a dummy.
    If I am replacing a roller timer with an identical unit, do I have to retime the engine.
    The new commutator and roller are identical to the one I am replacing.
    Great videos.
    Many thanks!

      If you're replacing it with the exact same type, then no, you don't have to.

    I would like to have the carburettor adjusted if possible?

    • @onewhocollects6781
      @onewhocollects6781 Před 9 měsíci +1

      The only adjustment they really have is the needle on the top. You turn it lean until it doesn't want to run, then back it off till it does run.

      Curious other than bad isolating washers on the cup , why would there be continuity between all terminals ?
