I’ve got a lot of respect for a referees, umpires, etc. There was a weekend when Iwas 15 or 16 years old and I was asked to umpire some girls softball games. That was the worst things that I could ever have ever agreed to do. It is tough making calls and always being told that you made the wrong call, no matter what call you made. Didn’t feel good, didn’t like it, I won’t ever do it again. These guys, and girls, have a tough job

The problem is the ref made the mistake on the first serve and didn't give the player the first serve back. She was left with only her second serve which is generally a lot weaker to keep one from losing their own point at service. The player was stating she was supposed to get her first serve back.

The issue here is that she served the ball, it was in, the opponent returned it (full swing of the racket), *then* the ref called fault, and then the returned ball went out of bounds. Basically all the important action was over before the ref made his mistake, and the point should go to the serving player and not her opponent. The fact that he was also off by a mile didn't help at all.
That second one was kind of cool - the referee actually cushioned the fighter's head when he was knocked out. At first glance, it looks like the ref "pretended" to fall down, but it was a deliberate action - he controlled the fighter's head all the way down w/his right arm. He might have prevented a concussion that way (or at least made it less severe). I haven't seen that before. I guarantee that ref was actively training whenever that clip was shot.

As someone who’s been a referee in football, I can say from experience that it’s a truly hard job to fulfil. There are some tough decisions you make and you don’t get any time to think about it. Players have got to realise we’re human too and make mistakes, so just roll with it. At the end of the end, it’s just a game and never forget to have fun. No need to get upset like the women playing tennis.
I'll accept mistake calls here and there, but consistently bad calls are unacceptable. I've seen a few jomboy breakdowns to see why some calls are bad or not. I'm not a baseball fan so I have no favorite teams. sometimes players try to cheat or bend the rules to their favor and when the calls aren't in their favor, they throw tantrums. Sometimes some calls are situational, so fans join in to cheer or boo the calls too.
I agree with all of that except "...it's just a game." First of all, it's a dumb thing to say in general. If it's only just a game, you have no personal investment into it. And if that's the case, why play? And in this case, it's even dumber because not only is the personal investment the feeling of competition, pride, accomplishment, etc. on the line, but also the fact that in this video it's these people's job, lively hood, and reputation on the line.

Doing reffing is tough. When i had volleyball tournaments, teams had to ref. for other teams. I either did the lines or the scores. In the beginning, it was difficult for me but eventually i got it, i did make some mistakes here and there went doing scores which is 100% my mistake, i had the fixed. The parents would get angry which put a lot a pressure on me. It was same with the lines, i had to see whether the ball was in or out. And when i made my call, the parents would get angry with me even though i was right. They would call in when it was out. My coach told me to stick with what i see, and not what the parents see. Even if im wrong. My teammate did that, it was peer pressure. She called out but the parents were saying in. It was out. She was right but then she changed her answer because the pressure she felt from the parents. The worst part is that those aren’t even the hardest parts in reffing. There was a down ref, libero tracker, and someone doing book. I feel like doing book and down ref were the hardest.
Why the hell you need a libero tracker? They replace the same 2 people on court each time, wear a different coloured uniform, and are allowed an infinite amount of replacements
