There is something so raw and mesmerizing listening to vocals only! It’s why we’re Pentaholics! Mitch’s perfect enunciation, Scott’s soul, & Kevin singing is always a treat!! Their Amazing Grace is perfection.
Kevin was pre med at Yale, speaks multiple languages including Mandarin, plays violin and Cello. that he has played in Carnegie Hall and he can beat box and play cello at the same time.
He plays saxophone and cello.
They all have outrageous vocal ranges!

Their bass, Tim, has a 5 octave range and has blown speakers on live performances with his low notes. I suggest Ring of Fire (features Avi btw), Man of Constant Sorrow, End of the Road (Boyz II Men cover), My Church, Folsom Prison Blues, and Helplessly Hoping, just to name a few ;) Enjoyed it yall! Also since you like acapella so much you HAVE TO HEAR HOME FREE there almost as good as PTX some people think they're better I don't but they are pretty freaking awesome thank again!!

Mitch is the highest voice, that sweet tenor. This is amazing and they really stand out here. Bronson Cave in L.A. Gorgeous and powerful. Scott-blonde, Kevin-beat boxer, Avi-bass, Kirstin-girl, and Mitch- tenor, has tested for 6 octaves, has the highest notes. Thanks for choosing PTX.

Kevin and Mitch have their own channel (Melvin, I think) and Scott and Mitch have "Superfruit" that is their crazy CZcams channel. Penta=5 as a Pentagon shape has 5 sides. A Pentatonic is a musical instrument of 5 scales. I don't know if each of them can sing in 5 scales but among them they can cover anything. Join the rabbit hole and venture to their live chat, did a video last week, "How well do you know your band members?" Since Scott and Mitch met when they were 10 years old and did the play, "Annie" and Kirsten joined them in Drama Class a few years later. The 3 went to the same school in Arlington, Texas. They are Amazing.

Avi has a 5+ octave range, and to not even get me started on his Polyphonic/Overtone range above that ! Overtones means he can sing more than one note at a time.

No Avi did not find a replacement for PTX. They went through an agency to find Matt, and Matt was ready. He learned all their songs, he was prepared to join the group. I don't know where that story about Avi picking the new guy came from.
