You could always do a sofa with a pull out bed in the living room for guests and still have their things stay in the office! Or even a pull out bed sofa in the guest room for them to use. That way the room is only crowded at night. Also - the house with the super small second bedroom - you could put an office desk in the closet and make it look cool! I’ve seen things like that on Pinterest. That way the actual room doesn’t have the desk in it
Loved seeing the rentals available in Hawaii and how prices differ from where I am. They were all quite similar inside but the blueberry cottage was my favourite inside with the red barn backyard.

It’s so interesting to see the similarities and differences between the islands. Homes here definitely have a lot of quirks. The outdoor space in the Red Barn home was insane!
Oahu is much bigger population wise so there are more apartment/condo/townhome options here. But less outdoor space for sure. If you move into an outdated home, would love to see rental friendly upgrades! We snagged our current place in Dec 2020 and barely starting to fix things up haha.
So interesting! I'm sure different parts of the island are different as well. Yes definitely have some ideas on how to do some renter friendly upgrades 😀

I live in Oahu (in "Town") and I had the hardest time finding a place especially being that my fur baby is a Rottie. I was in an Airbnb for about a month and a half before the Lord answered prayers! So, I totally understand where you guys are coming from in your search, from space... making sure that you have laundry units or connections available... You guys are awesome! I'm in agreement with you on your pregnancy journey!

The next place we were going to tour was rented out already 🥲 it was the one I was most excited about. So there is a good chance a part two will be coming!

I loved this video! House hunting definitely can have its challenges. I will be praying that God will provide a safe and accommodating space for your family! Also I was thinking while watching the tour of the blueberry cottage house, would a futon work? You could have it in there as a couch with a desk for office space while guests are not using the room and then when guests do come you can open it up as a bed. Maybe even get a mattress topper that you keep in a closet when it’s not being used. Just a thought! Praying for you all ❤️

Hi Kian, I’m not sure if you’ve considered this but getting a day bed for the guess room could be a great option for saving space but also accommodating guest
I was hoping to do a custom murphy bed to make even more space! But a day bed would be a good alternative. Just would want one that's comfortable for guests.
I have a suggestion put a day bed in the guest room it will work that way you don't need a big bed for your Guess I think that the first one was nice but second one you showed was better maybe next tour of Houses or cottages will be better for you guys . I'll have to see if i can find one that fits two people comfortably. It's quite difficult to find furniture on the island or companies that ship here. I haven't seen any daybeds at the places I've shopped before, but I'll check again!

That's a good idea, but typically it's our parents our a couple visiting. Not sure if they have ones big enough for two people to sleep comfortably.
Loved the tour, it’s so hard to find a place with animals hand kids on Maui.
I wonder if you could have fit 2 twins in the spare room of that last house, especially if you could put one of them fully into the nook part

I think the only big apartments buildings and condos that you will see in Hawaii is on the island of Oahu like in Honolulu, Kapolei and Waikiki etc.
it’s so hard thinking of paying $2500 a month for rent, we live in a 2 bedroom apt in eastern washington state and we pay close to 2,000. we’d love to buy a home so we are thinking of moving back to kansas where we are from. cost of living is steep these days!

I wouldn’t worry about guest worry about your own 365 days a week comfort and price point I wouldn’t go anything over $2000 it’s such a rip off for rent then you could always offer less if you like a blueberry home offer them 2300 and see if they’ll take it.
The Lord may not provide all that you want, but He will provide everything you need!
