Although I do agree regarding the age issues, don't underestimate the power of "Ahjussi" and "Ahjumma" fans.... 😁
For a guy who preferred rock sound all my life, Dreamcatcher was so refreshing and the cultural shock I experienced was something I still feel in my bones... I'm in my 50s....😭

TBH while I wished for a win for their previous comebacks with the Dystopia arc, I am SO GLAD Dongie was there for an OT7 win.
Not sure if you are into concerts, but Dreamcatcher announced they're coming back to the US for another tour and tickets are already on sale!
We're so used to Dami handling the rap, but in Reason all three rappers were front and center. The first rap is evenly split between Sua and Dam, with the final rap split between Gahyeon and Dami. Gahyeon has become so good at rapping that at first I thought the whole thing was Dami. Gahyeon really is cool now, and not simply cutest daughter.
Yoohyeon has this ability to put more intense emotion into her voice than the others. Siyeon is good at it too, but not in the same way. Yoohyeon always sounds like she's pushing out the lyrics with her final breath and everything she hides inside is revealed. Secret Love Song is the best example of what she does.

I am at a weird age for kpop i guess, being nearly 60, I am big into Linkon Park, Evenescence, and some others. Though not 'big' into kpop, I do have some groups I really like, Dreamcatcher, Ateez, Stray Kids, and CLC. Am glad, so glad, to see that Dreamcatcher renewed their contracts.. (went through it with CLC, and it was not fun, sucks seeing a group you love end up disbanding.)
Love Dreamcatcher, they are one of my ult groups, so thanks for all the reactions to their content.

Actually when fans are older and have their jobs it's easy to support artists. Because you're independent and have your own money so you can buy their albums and concert tickets easily without asking a parent or something. I think a lot of fans who are 20+ brings the most support to the groups they like.
Also from my experience me and my kpop fan friends are all older

Dude, I've heard this from new Insomnias too where they feel "guilt" about celebrating their 6 years. ( "guilt" is a strong word, but I don't have a better word) Whether it be 6 years, 6 months, 6 days if you love this group, then you're an Insomnia; and sir YOU are definitely an Insomnia. Yeah, the hooded figure is InSomnia. The staff they're holding is DC's lightstick. The MV really is adorable. We love them.

The animated avatars, afaik, are: JiU (pink hair, blue dress, "Fly High" era), SuA (dress with beads, ponytail, "What" era), Siyeon (short platinum hair, "Odd Eye" era), Handong (red coat, two-toned short hair, "VISION" era), Yoohyeon (brown leather, dark bangs, "MAISON" era), Dami (short brown hair, "Piri" era), and Gahyeon (black miniskirt, space buns, "BOCA" era). So, yeah, you got about half right! I couldn't tell JiU and SuA apart at first and had to look at their PD's instagram post to figure it out lol.

Edit: About your thinking about the young age of idols, I actually believe it too. But for me, since they won their 1st win, of course I would want them to win more, but what I want now is they enjoy their idol life. For example travel more around the world to meet Insomnias, enjoy good food cuz they love food, and make more music.
I'm a multi fandom before, and literally enjoy any good song from idols, if can, I want them to make more good songs, like BigBang or SNSD keep doing music for their fans, doesnt really care about their age and stuff.
Another edit: U correct. Insomnia i can say one of if not the only fandom that so chills and heartwarming. I think its because of Dreamcatcher, they the one that make us feel like being in a family. So grateful to be an Insomnia 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
I loved your medley of reactions. everything about Dreamcatcher is very special to me. They mess with my feelings. In these almost 8 years of career if we include the Minx era. I don't know of any group that deserves more love and success than they do. Happy 6th Anniversay Dreamcatcher.

(I almost called it an episode when writing this comment so that says something haha) I don’t think I’ve actually commented on your channel yet but I Just wanted to say before I watch, thank you and happy (late) anniversary to not only Dreamcatcher but all Insomnia including you and especially thank you for your work putting out Dreamcatcher videos and supporting the girls!
Korean age hasn't been used on official documents for years, and the current government recently announced they were abolishing it completely. It's confusing to everybody in the world except Koreans and serves no useful purpose. It will take awhile to fade as is normal for traditional practices.
Happyface has nobody else of the stature of Dreamcatcher. Not renewing their contracts would have put the company back to the way it was with Minx, barely surviving. It was never really going to happen.
The thing about Dreamcatcher is that the fanbase is not majority Korean, so the normal Kpop idol demographic doesn't apply to them. It was international fans that got them their first win. They never will win a music show with just their Korean fans, as loyal as they are. The awards they have won are foreign or international ones like Best Global Artist (Taiwan) in 2020, and K Global Heart Dream Awards in 2022. When international fans have unrestricted access to voting then Dreamcatcher wins. The music shows and other Korean award shows restrict access to voting by foreigners probably in fear that Koreans will lose control of the process, which is understandable.
Handong hasn't been in China since she returned from there in October 2020. Most of the members are not from Seoul so they all live in the dorm. Gahyeon's and Jiu's families live in Seoul and Yoohyeon is from Incheon, but for the others the distances are too great and they rarely get enough time off to travel. Lucky is Siyeon's niece from her older sister.

Well here is the thing for me. To me they are superstar i dont see them as idols. So basically age dont matter to me. Hope they make great music till they are old.

they will tour half the time since that's really their only big money maker. they have in the past visited each region once a year so maybe around the summer time they will be back in usa. you can goto mymusictaste and they have some point system where fans request artists go to their city. this may have been why they went to mn of all places last time because it actually had a lot of makestar points or whatever they call it.
I think they're coming on March, will they be back on summer too?

Great video, I'm "old", so the adult worlds of Dreamcatcher or Mamamoo are more attractive to me. Kpop is too poppy and too young for me (baby monster is a shame imho). Dreamcatcher is working hard now to prepare the comeback ... Fighting !
