They are from my home town of Sheffield U.K. and the story is the band were playing at The Limit nightclub in Sheffield and Joanne and Suzanne were dancing among the crowd and Phil thought they would look good as dancers on stage with the band and the fact they could both sing was an added bonus. Imagine going to see your favourite band and the next thing you know, you’re on tour !
Not quite right, the girls were dancing at the Crazy Dazy, when Phil saw them, and uttered a chat up line that must have been used countless times since then, asking if they wanted to be part of a pop group. They were both still at School, Oakey had to get permission from their parents and School. On a side note, being the same Vintage as them, I don't think the 'daisy' lasted much longer, for some reason or other it was never on our pub crawl list, or final destination, odd given its location
Cat Sarai - Gen X Rewind most of the bands of this era were really nice people. Although not this type of music a good example would be Iron Maiden. Global superstars who are still filling stadiums to this day yet are so grounded and down to Earth.

(Keep Feeling) Fascination is truly one of their best songs. It is irresistibly catchy. The Human League has many great songs and classics to choose from but if I had to choose a #1 song from them I think it would Heart Like a Wheel.
Phil Oakley was a hospital guard, he was vocalist in a group called the deceased boyfriends and later he recruited two singing chorus girls susan and johanne, johanne was phil's girlfriend for a while

Yeah! That's one of the greatest pop songs from the 80's. A classic at all. The Human League is even incredible in the early 90's. "HEART LIKE A WHEEL" was an awesome hit.
A band from my home town who I finally got to see about 10 years ago in Sheffield. Phil Oakley saw the girls dancing in a nightclub and asked if they could sing too and the rest as they say is history!
Amazing that girls were just spending their evening together at the nightclub dancing when Oakey and his girlfriend found them while looking quickly new persons for the band's tour. Two guys had been just left the band to form Heaven 17.
I love watching your reactions to these songs! I have similar reactions to all of them. So glad to have spent my teenage years with this kind of music all around.

Hi Cat, I’m Simon and I’m from Liverpool. I was 15 in 1980, the late 70’s and right through 80’s we had some amazing bands, try looking at the Jam, superb group, Tubeway Army, etc, etc. And I’m glad you pronounce Depeche Mode correctly lol. Love your channel, proper songs 👍❤️
Lead singer for Human League, Phil Oakey, did a great song with Giorgio Moroder(the king of disco and Donna Summers producer) for a little movie called Electric Dreams. Look up his song, Together in Electric Dreams in 1984. You won't be disappointed. Oh, also included was a great song(the best I think) by Boy George, Love is Love. Don't skip that one. Keep on.

Cat, I’m with you. We grew up with really great music. I love it, feel good when I hear it and can’t help but want to dance. I’m so glad to have found you.
i agree about the intro too, and as i heard it again, it could fall into the category of intro's that you automatically know the song the first few seconds it starts
