Farmer on the Prairie is about my life on our central Illinois farm. My name is Seth and I am a young farmer with the desire to get things done and to keep the farm running smoothly. The farm is 740 row crop acres and 100 acres of pasture. We run about 100 grass-fed cattle and 1500 meat birds a year.
Throughout my videos, you will get to know Dad, MommaD, and Sister. My brothers Josiah and Luke help us whenever there is a big project so they can feel important. We also have a part time employee Ben who is the comic relief. Because so many different things happen on our farm, there is never a dull moment. So tap that Subscribe button and come along for the ride!
If you call that disgusting I don't know what you would call our equipment lol. Good job
Extremely dirty. I heard someone got a new pressure washer though. 🤣🤣🤣
I was thinking the same thing LOL, I work at a cauliflower farm and we harvest all year long, whitch means we also have to get on the field when it is very wet sometimes. I don't have to tell you what our equipment looks like at the end of the year :-\
Wow! It’s great to see someone who really takes care of their equipment. That’s a really in depth maintenance.
WOW......that is one clean tractor....good job and thanks for posting
yeah and and when times comes for another kubota replacement kubotas usually give a good value price towards trade ins wich why love kubota
If you take care of your equipment, your equipment will take care of you!
Great job Seth, I’m glad to see you wax your equipment. It makes it easier to keep clean while protecting from uv and environmental pollution. I love watching your video’s especially you working in the shop! Stay safe and God bless you and your family! Tell sis I said hi 👋
Look good, play good! Great to see people taking care of expensive equipment.
Looks like brand new
Enjoyed the video Seth, It's great to watch someone who has pride in their equipment and takes good care of it.
I’d put a conditioner/protectant on the tires too, as expensive as they are protect and make them last as long as possible!
Great job!! You take a lot of pride keeping your machinery clean.
I grew up in Bunker Hill Illinois. I came acrossed your channel. Really enjoy your videos. Keep up the awesome job
we all like your videos a lot, there very informative, great job, a that traktor looks super
Great video Keeping up on maint equipment will last so much longer thanks for taking time out of your busy day to show us this video
That loader comes off slick. Good Job
Thanks Seth, keep up the good work
using a cleaner and scrub brush IN ADDITION to the pressure washer made all the difference in that clean up job. Excellent results Love the videos - keep them coming young man
Good PM video hello from Daniel from central Mississippi
Hey Seth, there is a product called New Finish, that will make all of the plastic parts showroom new looking!
Very nice video you made there. I am a new subscribers. I live on a farm by Reward Saskatchewan Canada. I farm with my brothers and my Nephew. I have the tractor as you have. I like my Kubota tractor alot. My tractor is the same horsepower as yours. I have a front end loader on my tractor too
To take off grease, tube o towels works wonders, I wash off our equipment then wipe down the grease ball areas and it removes it with ease
Our 6140 m is made in Germany nice tractor
yeah kubota are nice and there accully cheaper then deeres and newhollands here in canada wich were thinking about getting 6 or 7 kubota loader tractors for the farm and snow removal company
You guys should put rubber fender extensions over the rear tires.
What brand were the LEDs you installed. I'd like to swap mine out.
Believe it or not Seth, Dawn dishwashing detergent is unbelievably effective on grease.
So is a hot water pressure washer, but it often leaves behind residue and if you use to much pressure you will take the paint off. I prefer to just avoid the problem by taking the loader off.
May remove grease but fades paint
May move grease but fades oaint
Great video as usual. Can you mention what city or what county your near , if not that’s ok . 😀👍🏾🚜🚜

I don't know if you've learned about ceramic coating yet but just wait until you see what that stuff will do it'll change a lot.
Do you still have the Kubota tractor and I haven’t seen any new videos. I love your videos.
I'm a new subscriber. When did you get this tractor? Looks really good for 300 hours use a year. What is the other tractor outside at the corner of the barn at the first of the video? You can see it when you take the loader off. I'm from central IN. Great videos. Looking forward to the outside spring work coming soon and watching you putting the crops out this spring. Thanks for sharing!
We bought it in 2017. The other tractor belongs to the township and my dad pushes snow in a nearby town with it.
Aloha from Portugal, Europe's west coast! I'm a recent farmer with 40ha of olive trees owning a Kubota 5111 and, being an amateur, really liked your "no brainer" video, but have a few questions:
1. Do you have any special attention not to get the pressured water near electric cables or hydraulics?
2. What recurrence you apply grease in the zerks? for example, if you have different timings for greasing the link, arms, etc. what are they?
3. Did you apply the same wax on the windows?
Thanks for your support and keep on the good work,
Nuno
I usually grease everything every 50 hrs. Yes, I waxed the windows and the electronics are fine as long as you don’t blast straight at them.
@@farmerontheprairie thanks for your feeback!
In a couple of weeks will assembly the loader and frontal PTO in the Kubota and believe yours have it, what kind of extras you connect at the same time?
What is the headlights Model used..?
awesome videos!!, I cant say I have ever waxed a tractor before but the kubota looks good, have you ever tried ceramic wax? and if so how were the results for keeping it clean ?
Yes, but I haven't been doing it long enough to have a definite answer.
Nice job, great looking organized shop, but did you wax Dads pick up.
His truck is no longer worth waxing because it has holes bigger than my fists in it.
Sure think i would of changed the oil first.
I know i'm a city dweller, and it may be perfectly reasonable for the tractor to have this, "option", but does the tractor have a tilt steering wheel? Oh, and what do you charge for wash a 2013 Avalanche?! :-) Great job Seth!
Yes, all cab tractors have a tilt steering wheel because it would be impossible to get in and out of the seat if they didn't have one.
Umm...I’ve seen dirty tractors that made yours look clean at the outset.
What brand lights and all the led’s I can’t find any nowhere thanks in advance
Black Oak Led makes them. So does Auxbeam
What kind of wax did you use on the glass? Thanks
Turtle Wax Ice seal and shine. It is amazing stuff.
That is one sweet kubota. how old is it?
2016
What size is your shop
32x48
Check out "collinite 845 insulator wax" on Amazon. You only have to wax once or twice a year with this stuff. Thousands of 5 star reviews. American made, used on aircraft and boats as well as farm equipment. I discovered it twenty years ago, and have never used anything else since. (I don't have any affiliation with the company, just a fan )
Actually have it in my cabinet. Just finishing up my CG wax.
Seth, you have never put out a video that was not well-done.
