  • This knitting stitch can be used for knitting hats, sock cuffs, as a ribbing for cardigans, pullovers and sweaters and anything else where you need elastic stretchy and at the same time firm knitted fabric.
This stitch pattern is 5 stitches and 2 rows repeat.
Unfortunately I don't have a name for this pattern. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate your comments below. If you have seen it somewhere already, please let know as well.

Thank you Heba. You can easily knit this pattern in the round. You need to cast on multiple of 5 (no edge stitches needed). The pattern will change only in even rows. Knit row 1 without changes (skip the first and the last edge stitches). Row 2: *slip 2 stitches, yarn in back, purl 3 stitches,* repeat . Repeat these two rows. I hope this helps. If not let me know and I will try to make another video for knitting the same pattern in the round.

When you do the crossed stitches is that just before and after the edge stitches or is it the 2 crossed stitches, k, p,k, 2 crossed stitches, k,p,k to the end

It's the same to the end - 2 crossed stitches, knit, purl, knit - repeat :)
