What happens is the spaghetti will hang over the pot and over the fire itself, so it’ll burn the edges of the pasta since the end is dry
However, using a large enough pot keeps this from happening every other time. It was only the time I used a smaller pot did this happen
I was also scared for Peach

I was always told to snap it because it never fit into the pot and would cook unevenly otherwise
If you want it al dente you don’t really have a choice
If you put them in without snapping, the part that's already underwater will immediately become more and more flexible, letting you nudge the pasta in and fully submerge it in ~10 seconds

This is actually an item in Paper Mario : The Thousand-Year Door (at least in the French version). The super-extra-long spaghetti (singular) can be bought from a food stall in Poshley Heights. Their (translated) motto is "One spaghetti for one meal, one meal with one spaghetti !".

And let’s not forget that Peach outright rejected Mario at the end of Odyssey. You don’t get together after that rejection.

The half touching water and being steamed will soften before it starts to really cook and it'll all fit in the pan.

For starters, the non-Italian pots are just NOT made for Spaghetti (I swear, I see American using BEAKERS to cook pasta. GRAB A EFFIN POT! Stop using the kettles!). And even still, it's a matter of seconds for the spaghetti to be bendable enough to sink completly in without breaking: you aren't losing any sleep for unexisting un-even cooked pasta. Trust me.
The reason why is a big thing, two reasons: breaking past is an offense to the artists that created it. Even in the modern era, the machines do only SMALL PARTS in the pasta making productions, in Italy. Second, that's my personal take: for kids, you are authorized to snap long pasta to avoid choke hazards (you can always cut it with a knife later, tho). But if you snap the pasta for adult guests... now you are offending them for subtly treating them like children.

I break my spaghetti in half most of the time. It’s easier to eat, cooks faster, and all around just better. Now if I want my dish plated nicely or I have a thinner sauce, then I leave them longer, since it has more surface area. Same with fettuccini.
