Yes it's frustrating being accused of looping as I didn't (as the speed is always changing I can't see how you could loop more than 1-2 secs of it and then do so without it glitching). I now know how to put a time code in the vid and will do that next time. Full story is that I bought the $20 one and was pretty happy with it. My sister ordered the $1 one from Aliexpress which of course took ages to arrive. When it did arrive we did the comparison of the two spinners. Needless to say I wasn't happy but it gave me the idea for the video.

you could reverse the video and then loop it and it would work seamlessly thats probably why after the spiner stoped it started again in the other direction
I saw it wasn't even looped because there was one movement with the middle finger for 2 seconds in 10 secs into the spinning process and it never happened agaiN!

I bought one for $25 on amazon and another for $5 including shipping on ebay and guess what? They were both made from the same exact mold! They were exactly the same right down to the side "seam", dimples, bearing caps, weight, type of plastic etc. Only difference were the bearings used and the $5 one actually had the better bearings!! It took like a week longer to arrive but it was better and $20 cheaper... This video is not faked or looped, I've seen it first hand!

jack birtles it's an optical illusion caused by the frame rate of the camera (25fps) vs the spinner which is of course slowing down. This is why the spinner appears to be changing direction all the time. It's called the Wagon Wheel Effect and you can read up on it on Wikipedia. Thanks for watching.
