nihar joshi, I fully agree with you, brother! Great unbiased analysis by Harsha Bhogle!!!👏🏻 Our team should realize that bossing the groupstage-matches only and choking in the most crucial knockout-phases will never win us a big ICC tournament ever again!!! 🤦‍♂️😤 Our Bevra coach (Ravi Shastri) should stop calling our team „the best team in the history of Indian cricket“, because it certainly is not!!! 🤦‍♂️😤

i do not give importance to what he has to say. He has no clue of cricket. He thinks Dhoni finishes matches 9 out of 10 times. This is when Dhoni of last 2 to 3 years is playing with SR of 73 and now scores of 330 to 360 are norm (with dhoni;s sr we only get 270).. He has no clue.

Firstly stop hyping these branded universities. Believe me, all universities including IITs and even LSE MIT etc. are glorious because of their incredible potential minds. Students are treated like slaves there'd it's not a learning environment ever in universities, but a survival cut-throat exploitation done by tyrannical instructors there (really feel ashamed to call them teachers, because they terribly misuse their power & enforce too much learning & guidance burden solely on students themselves, with literally no appreciable guidance from their side ever, check IIT student confession itself on this tyranny, and even the way in which even the greatest BILL GATES has gone through toughest course MATH55 which deals with brainstorming almost 4 odd year syllabus in less than a year time 🙄)
Basically, all the majority schools & universities in this world are EXPLOITATION CENTERS wherein students go with the false hopes to learn some real-world industrial skills, but get literally no fruitful skills in return. I know all this, because I've seen my IB students and some ex-IITians telling about this horrible system they're forced to go through ☹️

Our 2019 WC was a disaster. Apart from top 3, there was no fixed batting order. Musical chairs was being played with no 4 slot. When the time came, the no 4-7 lacked the expertise of chasing down scores in high pressure matches. Even in the semi final against NZ, team management did a blunder by sending Dhoni so late. It was the perfect match to send him at no 4. Dinesh karthik who didn't play the whole WC, suddenly got selected for crucial no 4. We lost the WC because of our own mistakes and taking the top 3 for granted. There needs to be some oversight over the arbitrary decisions of team management.

finally someone said it beautifully.. well done bro..w e r just living under the shadows of our top 3...our other weakness's continue to remain ..our death bowling minus bumrah is nothing but a joke..if he has a bad day, which he will purely because he is human..we will be chasing leather and if we are 30/3 chasing even 270..99 times out of 100 we will end up losing ..this Shastri and Kohli duo have done nothing except chest thump .. none of our weaknesses have been addressed ..

This is why I love Harsha Bhogle. Such a genius he is. He completely dissected India's performance in those knockout games. I'd like to add, two aggravating factors. Maybe, the top three choke during knockout stages of the ICC games and secondly, the uncertain middle order of Indian batting line up. I don't say the top 3 are not great players, its just that on such crucial days, even the number 1 ODI batsman has no runs to show. Well, as of now I am scared of the first test against NZ. U need experience , like raina , rahane , ashwin in middle order. And india started experimenting and now they have kedar , shardul , kuldeep , pant , shiman dube , who do not perform in needed matches. Dhoni had his key players to win a tournament for him like ( ishant , yuvi , raina , aswin , jadu )
Kohli is still trying to find tht core.
Rohit is independent , dhawan is independent ,kohli is independent but then who ?? What is the core team u want to win match with !!!!

    • @harshkargwal5005
      @harshkargwal5005 Před 4 lety +7

since kohli came into captaincy, he has been treating his odi team like a t20 team, having hard hitters who may or may not have the consistency required for the middle order. Rahane did not perform for 8 months in odi but had he been backed he was a solid middle-order player who wouldve saved india in crunch situations. taking mayank aggarwal and even rishabh when india faced 2 injuries in wc was one of the worst decisions i have ever seen being made. Rayudu had a good amount of experience and backed it up with solid performances but one bad series and he was taken out of the picture. I still think Rahane at number 4 and rayudu at number 5 wouldve been the most optimal solution to their middle order. or maybe rahane/rayudu at number 4 pandya at 5 and dhoni at 6. but again Virat and shastri do not even look at experienced players which are required for a solid middle order. (The big blow was even though rahane hadnt played odi in over an year he had made a fabulous county cricket century 2 days before vijay shankar's injury and they couldve tried him well over the uncapped mayank aggarwal)

I think my point of view may disturb you but I would still say. I think India is not going to win the world cup (T20) in 2020 or 2021,because there are lot better teams than India in shortest format of the game and since England have cracked the code of winning titles, they have a great chance of winning T20 WC as well. But, I think and it's my gut feeling that 2023 WC is coming home, I have a strong feeling of that as the WC is in India, and the captain will be Rohit Sharma, he is the person who can bring the WC home.

    You missed many points
    1. Pressure on India in 2011 was huge since the tournament was played in India.
    2. You didn't take the name of the coach and captain of the team.
    3. You didn't ask why wasn't Dhoni sent ahead in SF against NZ.
    4. You didn't ask why India decided to bowl against Pak in Champions Trophy 2017.
    5. You didn't ask the question why the team management has begun tinkering so much with the team selection.
India won Asia cup under Rohit and so you should ask the question about Kohli's captaincy.

either add more responsibility on the batsmen to hone their skills in bowling too, no more one dimensional players and at the same time some bowlers who can bat add more responsibility on them and groom them to hone their batting skills so that they can contribute as well to the teams cause, early we had mohinder, sandeep patil, ajay jadeja, azhar, saurav, sachin, sehwag, yuvraj, raina who could roll their arms and get a break or two which is always a luxury and a big bonus but these days we have no one and i am not so sure why so.
I think we have lost raina and been grooming kedar who is no match for raina by any standards and i think if we could bring raina back in the scheme of things at least for a year or two that would be better.
It was heartening to see saini bat so well in the recently concluded games but if he does that consistently and becomes more reliable then it will be a big add on and a big bonus and that will guarantee a permanent place in the indian team may be.
I would like to see more multi dimensional players coming through and not the bits and pieces players as manjrekar said. It is always good to have 2 allrounders who are pretty decent bowlers and batsmen in a team which will add depth to both batting and bowling and will add a balance.
I would like to see Mumbai's sarfraz khan fast tracked into the indian line up as he should have been already there but lost tract for a couple of years and now he is back to form of his life and consistently performing as he now has more experience, more maturity and confidence and good temperament and he is young he is a gutsy player and very innovative in the shorter formats and i think he can bowl leg spin too and that should add value to his presence.
Hope the management thinks the same way too and also do not rush these youngsters just for the heck of it based on some performances but let them hone their skills and temperament and become consistent and let them go through the grind of domestic cricket for at least 2-3 seasons be it a bowler or a batsman that is what happened with khaleel, siraj, mohit sharma.
I wonder what has happened to the second indian to score a triple century in tests Karun Nair? where is he now? we should not be losing such talents in a jiffy. find him if he is still actively playing, give him confidence as we are having 6-7 players already in their 30's so we need next generation of players in the team who could take those spots and fulfill the teams requirements.
