Watching this in 2023 and having known the famous issue of "in search of NFT utility" we should consider NFTs now as "smart NFTs" or even "programmable assets with combining fungible and non-fungible sets of features". (greetings to Plato & Aristotle here cause they developed the problem of concrete things and universalies). Such possibility as "wrapping NFT with any fungible collateral" mentioned by prof. Boneh is absolutely crucial. It enables dozens of use cases with wrapped NFTs as assets with predictable prices and required features (time-lock, event lock, royalties etc.). It has already created a new segment of crypto economy where unique assets with specific clear utility NOT ASSOCIATED with "selling JPEGs" have become the main tools.
There were a lot of maybes, coulds and buzzwords in this video. I must admit, I absolutely LOVED the reactions to the last question 😅 Answering the question by not answering it.
After watching the video I thought, if I can create value using NTFs on the blockchain, then I've created wealth that can never be taken from me or those I choose to pass that wealth on to. It makes me wonder about the types of applications that can be created with permanence in mind that could benefit humanity as a whole. Can a singer's synthesized voice clips (deep fake or otherwise) be a NFT and capture value from any platform it's played on, what about going viral, or having the best explanation on making pizza?

because you are missing the other important properties of NFTs. One of best one is "access point" , where you can access to whatever Creator offers something like "Stoner Cats". not necessarily limited to digital/media exclusive accesses, could be just coffee meeting too. All those NFT high price could be speculation, it doesn't matter. In the end what matter is "is it worth at all or not?". Think about DOT COM bubble, did burst but new internet/software ideas remained and changed world we live in. Similar thing could happen, It's not just buy sell thing.

People get suckered into buying from the hype and not from art that speaks to them.The internet is a mass marketing and data collection tool for the greedy. It's not become a place where we can share ideas and make it a better world for everyone. It needs replacing with a new internet created using open source code and is run by many people worldwide not just a few corporate giants who hide behind numerous business names but still have the same people on the board of directors. I hope you find some use for NFTs that's worthy of your energy☺️ have a great day ☺️

I'm not excited by NFTs and these people are not selling it to me. It's a lot of hype for nothing. We're all used to too much hype around crap ideas.
